How to Get There
Great hotel! Very clean and modern. Staff was incredibly helpful and polite. We stayed in the king suite without the balcony and it was still very spacious. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. Full bar and good menu for food.
We loved this hotel. It is clean and spacious and comfortable. Big windows! Big bathrooms. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We don’t have dogs but there were many there. Did not eat at their restaurant so can’t speak to that. Super close to downtown and all the shops and restaurants. No complaints!
Enjoyed our stay at Hotel Indigo overall. (We have stayed at Hotel Indigo Atlanta) Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is convenient, a short walk to downtown area. We paid extra for a room with View, 9th floor overlooking mountains, beautiful and well worth the extra $$. Bed was very comfortable, with nice linens and a large bathroom with huge shower! My Only complaint was the floor in our room was not 100% clean when we arrived. Hairs and dust bunnies in the corners. Hairs on floor in bathroom. I wiped it up! Should have asked house keeping but I hate to complain!! Wish parking was free!
Ok I realize i paid a good penny for a suite during a holiday weekend, but the following. I called several days in advance to confirm our room (sometimes very difficult with the amount of suite names) and a great agent verified all of my concerns/questions. He acknowledged our room/bday celebration and our dog. I’ll be straight forward that as a premium IHG member the 18.00 fee per day for parking is ridiculous and it might sway future visits.(we parked once and left the car for the entire visit for 40 bucks). The dog friendly policies are fantastic yet similar hotels of this quality offer free fees for pets, but indigo charges 75.00. Aside from the extortionate fees the stay as always was great. Upon checkin I was recognized from my previous phone call and the agent (I thing Steve) was fantastic and knew of all my requests and said that our suite had his favorite views (no lie). The room and location was/is fantastic. The overwhelming 690 square feet was fantastic, yet furniture a bit used. Just dinged as normal wear and tear , yet needs an update. Without me remaining picky the hotel and staff are fantastic. We didn’t really use house keeping due to our dog, but they left us with the provisions needed. I highly recommend this hotel especially with the walking access ability.
The weeknight staff was great; daytime, not so kind. Just a weeeeee bit grumpy and unwilling to provide real directions. “Follow that road there” isn’t the most helpful guidance we could have been given. Glad I have GPS. Enjoyed having to fetch my own filtered water from across the floor. At least it tasted all right. Probably my least favorite thing was that the fire alarm went off every ten hours the first two days we were there, which resulted in multiple fire trucks coming to check out the situation (relatively slow response time the last trip though... obviously VERY comforting). AND one cannot hear the announcement regarding said alarm inside one’s room, though such announcement is coming in relatively clearly across the hallway speaker. Days later, I STILL don’t understand this. Why couldn’t I hear the announcement regarding whether I was to die from inside my room? I could clearly hear the fire alarm itself, as I thought I’d been shot, though I certainly couldn’t hear that it was safe to not jump out my 7th floor window to avoid certain death
Ahem. Daytime staff, not so great. The beds... OMG. We literally left a full day early because the beds were THE most miserable slabs of wood on which we’d ever slept. I don’t know if I’ve ever been more miserable, including the weeks I spent on a tour bus on essentially an air mattress. Reception couldn’t have cared less when we explained the beyond awful bed situation. One should not pay $400 per night to flip one’s own mattress over and around to attempt to sleep in THE dustiest room one has ever seen. Apparently this hotel does not sweep, mop, or vacuum.
Dog “friendly”. Ha! Said dog has to relieve itself on the corner of a busy street intersecting with Interstate 26... probably not the highlight of my dog’s life. Plus NO ONE cleans up after the dogs so I washed my boots more than I washed my hair (and I wash my hair daily), despite there being a “doggy station” on the highway. The website claims there is a weight limit to the dogs, but there is not in practice, so my 15 pound dog was perpetually terrorized by the 100+ pound dogs present. Also, this hotel forces you to valet, which means you tip the valet every time you want to leave or come back, though they won’t load your suitcases into your car when you’re forced to check out a day early. Sweet.
The hotel IS located near downtown (though the staff can’t tell you how to get there... FYI it’s less than a five minute walk...don’t be tricked into driving and paying $6 to park).
I will NEVER stay at a Hotel Indigo again, even if it’s free. IHG should be beyond embarrassed.
