Gorgeous, rustic, modern, middle of nowhere

To start with a warning so that others may learn from our mistake - I guess I have gotten used to hotels warning you when to ignore google maps, but if you are thinking of driving along Cabo de Este to enjoy the Sea or Cortez, IGNORE GOOGLE MAPS. You will find a totally gnarly route and will 45 minutes in come across boulders that have been placed to block the road. In this sense, directions to the property are not clear. The directions the hotel sent us included written instructions for the “desert route” but the map included a highlighted route (why?) along the Sea of Cortez which google maps actually also suggests as a faster route. This route is no longer accessible and finding this out ourselves cost us the 2 hours of remaining daylight to drive to the hotel for our first night.

The reviews do not lie - this is a very remote location - which makes it a great place to unwind and disconnect. It seems that every room has a (sideways) view of the Sea, with the rain shower right next to the floor to ceiling window to enjoy the view while you shower. The staff were friendly and worked hard to make us feel taken care of.

The coast here is beautiful! Of note, the beach is not a safe swimming beach. But beautiful to walk along, we were the only ones on it the whole time we were there.

The common spaces of the hotel were a little worn down. For example, the pool (the water structure that looks like a fountain the the photos) was not very inviting, it was full of algae and the sun shade for the bar in the center was torn as were several of the sunshades. We didn’t see anyone in it the whole time.

The food and drinks are priced for the isolation, we paid $50 per person for dinner and 2 rounds of drinks. Nothing to write home about, but not sure how else we would eat if not for the restaurant here!

Best food for miles!

We did not stay at the hotel which is very modern and interesting, but we did eat at their restaurant a few times and hit the bar too. The food is great and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The price goes up rapidly when the drinks start coming, but it all tastes delicious.

Be warned! This hotel is not easy to get to. It is at least 1.5 hours on mostly dirt roads with no cell service. Once you get there, it's beautiful and you'll have the beach and most of the place to yourself. And there is nothing (literally) around for miles.

Vidasoul is an absolute homerun. Incredible paradise destination for vacations, weddings, weekend trips, etc. Food, views, people were all fantastic. No reason to look any further once you’ve found Vidasoul. They are the best. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard to make Vidasoul an unforgettable experience.
