The room 'with a street" view we had requested was at 86 degrees when we got in! After 30 minutes the a/c was only able to lower the temperature to 84 degrees! We asked to be moved to another romm. Management said they would see what they could do! They moved us to a smaller rrom witht the street view of a parking lot trash bin! Avoid this property!
There are so many reasons why I am giving the Grand Fiesta America Chapultepec in Mexico City a five star review. For nearly a week, my husband and I enjoyed the many amenities, personal services, and unbeatable location of this great hotel. We opted for the modest upgrade to the grand club level. This gave us a room on the 17th floor with a postcard view of the Castillo De Chapultepec as well as access to a complete breakfast, Happy hour, and wonderful service at the delightful 16th floor Grand Club. We walked to all Chapultepec Park attractions and used Uber to get downtown. (Although we did manage to walk all the way from the Zocalo to our hotel along Reforma one beautiful day.) All in all a great CDMX hotel. We will return!
Located in a nice area just off Chapultepec Park in between the Zona Rosa and Polanco areas. The area is quite safe and I was comfortable walking in the immediate area by night. I was in room 407, and it afforded a nice view looking toward the Paseo de la Reforma, there is a small amount of noise from the street but wasn't an issue for me. In terms of walking, it's about a 10 minute walk to Zona Rosa and Anthropology museum. Room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and I was able to get a good sleep. There is mini bar, safe, and a coffee maker although I had noticed the coffee pods were never replaced and it was never clear if they were complimentary or not.
Staff was friendly, professional, and helpful; they did a good job handling my transfer back to the airport. The on site restaurant is pretty good for both dinner and the buffet breakfast. The bar, at the lobby level, was a pleasant spot and offered drinks for fairly reasonable prices. There is a gym on site which I didn't use but is available, although if you're coming from sea level get acclimatised before using the gym. I was a little disappointed there was no hotel directory to list phone numbers or the amenities the hotel had to offer.
A minor tip: if you're reserving there is no need to have the bed and breakfast rate due to the great offerings in Mexico City; you can always pay for the breakfast buffet separately. Despite some minor things, I had liked my stay overall and I would seriously consider staying here if I came back to Mexico City.
