Lovely "honeymoon" at El Patio 77
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We just returned from our short "honeymoon" in Mexico City. Somehow, we were able to secure our preferred room (the Guerrero room) only a few days out from our arrival date to CDMX! The check-in process was easy and comfortable, and the room was quaint, charming, nicely decorated, although it does not offer much bathroom privacy due to the open concept. Due to the eco-friendly design, the room did not have a temperature control and we experienced some unusual cold weather.

The building is fabulous and takes you back in time, and staff was very friendly. Thank you to Luis and Alex, especially, for the conversations and customer service! It was extremely quiet during our stay, we maybe saw 2-3 other travelers... but we did hear them... which is the only downside; the walls are almost paper thin and our first 2 nights we were awoken at 5am by someone else's phone alarm and the doors in the building, due to that they are very old and squeaky, can be loud. But not enough of a factor to impact our overall stay.

The neighborhood is also very quiet and a bit of a walk/taxi-ride to the other districts. The staff was very helpful to recommend restaurants and things to do. There are a few spots and tasty taquerias in the area, our favorite was "Tacos El Guero", only a 2 minute walk down the street! Contrary to other reviews I had read, it's actually quite far from Chapultepec, La Condesa, Zocalo, La Roma and other areas. Though, we mostly walked everywhere (took a bit of time) and felt extremely safe.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone looking for an intimate, unique and personal experience. Just for the building and the design alone, it's enough to consider! The price was also very reasonable. We look forward to our next stay in Mexico City in the future.

Beautiful property - high style - cozy home like feeling in a massive city!

Every Detail is special within the design and furnishings. The morning chef and her wonderful breakfasts were delicious!

Loved the quiet locale - safe dead end street - large beautiful windows were double/double to reduce noise. We had an amazing bathroom in a very cool room!

Fabulous Stay at Patio 77

I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend and couldn't have been happier. Our suite was spacious and beautiful - the design and aesthetic made it such a pleasure to spend time in the room. The bed was comfortable and the sheets so nice that I even looked for the tag so I could get my own. The service was wonderful - from helping me with a pizza delivery to suggestions for restaurants and things to do. Really attentive, but also a relaxed vibe. Would love to come back and definitely recommend it!

Oaxaca Room was Paradise!

I went to Mexico City for my birthday. From the concierge recommending spot-on wonderful places to drink and eat, to the kitchen cooking wonderful meals for breakfast, my stay at El Patio 77 was a dream. I am very picky about where I sleep while I travel. I'm that annoying guest that checks the linens and shower for its cleanliness. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. Also, it is in a great location for walking to the city's center (25 min walk) or to local supermarkets (5 min walk) 15 minute uber rides are literally $2.50 so taking an uber everywhere is super easy and convenient. El Patio 77 is a gem in the city away from the noise. I will definitely stay here again. Worth every cent.

Friends recommended both this hotel and the area for the creative crowd, the art, the galleries and the glorious interiors. We had high expectations and they were exceeded.

The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms have useful local and city guides. The walking tours of San Rafael put together by the hotel are great with lots of hidden gems to explore.

A real sanctuary.
