Absolutely recommended!

What a beautiful place! I wouldve stayed here longer if I didn't have another booking already. Luisa, Alex and Andrea, the front desk staff, are beyond amazing, they really went above and beyond for me. Im absolutely coming back.

Warm stay --- will be back!

I'm a travel agent and tour operator, and recently spent a few nights at El Patio 77 on a research trip. This boutique B&B is in the charming San Rafael neighborhood, which is adjacent to the vast majority of sites I visited and areas I wanted to explore, so a very convenient place to serve as my home-base.

The building is artfully restored, and beautiful to wander and explore. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. The daily sit-down breakfast was delicious! But the best part of the stay was the warm hospitality and great service. The staff really go out of their way to make your stay a special and memorable one. They reached out in advance to ask if they could help arrange any activities, tours, airport transfers and dinner reservations. They helped make bookings along the way, gave thoughtful advice and were a delight to talk with as I started and ended each day.

I'll definitely return and send clients your way!

Bad experience…beware of the Veracruz Suite and of the toilet paper policy
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We booked a junior suite with private bathroom. On our arrival we were assigned the Veracruz suite, which is just a regular room whose bed is quite small and it doesn’t fit two adult people conveniently. It was impossible to sleep comfortably, especially for 6 nights. During the night there was also a regular noise due to some electric equipment outside our room (a water purifier in a roof nearby?) switching on and off every hour, which was quite annoying.

The bathroom (and the wc area) has also no door. This means that you have a private bathroom, but no privacy and - according to the hotel policy - you cannot flush your used toilet paper, but you have to put it in a metal bin beside the wc for later collection. The reason for such a policy is the clogging of the pipes (see also the hotel reply to zachnyc on Apr 2014). Such a policy is quite exceptional and it should be properly advertised.

When we complained about the situation, the proposed solution was a room close to the kitchen area, which also the staff acknowledged as quite noisy. We decided to move to another hotel. In the end it was a bad experience, at least for us.

The hotel refused any refund because their booking policies are well advertised. I wished they were so clear also in describing the rooms and their wc policies. In other cases (see their repIy to MG on Mar 2015) they were able to make exceptions to their refund policies. Perhaps they have different standards with different people.

Very Charming hotel in Mexico City
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at El Patio 77 for 4 nights. We loved our stay there. The place is very charming, interior design is beautiful, well thought out and very special. The staff is really helpful. The one thing we would say is the location is good geographically to explore the city but has little choice for restaurant and dining at night.

El Patio 77 is the perfect home away from home!

We had the most amazing stay at El Patio 77! The welcoming atmosphere of this place was immediately clear when we arrived there after a long flight and a local band was playing music in the beautiful indoor stone garden while people where enjoying some local food. Check-in goes very smoothly and again very welcoming. Our room had everything a room needs. No remarks whatsoever. Also the temperature was nice all day and night. The rooms have a very nicely designed book with information about the building of the hotel, the city, possible tours, etc.. Next to that, the staff is extremely accommodating and loves to give more information if needed and can arrange tours and transport as well. The breakfast was fresh and different every day we were there. In short, El Patio 77 is the perfect home away from home from where you can easily explore all the amazing food, culture, architecture and everything else that Mexico City has to offer.
Thank you!
