Tempted to keep it a secret!

I don't usually write hotel reviews, but these guys deserve a glowing one!
This is a beautiful Well run place in a up-and-coming neighborhood. with a lush courtyard. You get your own gate key and come and go as you please. but always greeted with a smile and a nice chat by the staff...

San Rafael is not Roma or La Condesa (Yet!) but so close to everything. A short Uber ride or a nice walk to just about everywhere: Centro Historico, Roma Norte, La Condesa, Chaputlepec park.. And its easy to get to the airport.
But the best part of it are the staff! They were extraordinary in service - friendly and helpful. Even for weeks before we got there they made restaurants recommendations based on what we wanted to eat, booked tables at hard to get in places, bought us concert tickets, even got us very hard to get tickets to the Luis Barragan house tour on short notice... While there, we felt like staying at a friend's home - Super nice and helpful staff!
This is not a business hotel. Its a lovely bed and breakfast in a Beautiful colonial house. The immediate area is not very glamorous but safe, with artists and, pop-ups, etc. We got Uber rides within couple of min without fail. (No Lyft in MX) and very inexpensive! Our room was so beautiful in that old-world way, with 14 foot ceilings and tall French doors - very clean, comfortable and elegant.
I can not recommend this place enough! If you are looking for a lovely reasonable place to stay and don't need to be in the middle of super trendy hubs, but very close, don't hesitate! We didn't want to leave! in fact our flight got relayed to the next day at the airport and we came back for another night stay...

What is there not to love? Best small hotel in CDMX

El Patio 77 is a charming old mansion located in the San Rafael neighborhood of Mexico City. It has been lovingly converted to a small Bed and Breakfast with an ecological bent. Everything about the place oozes charm and quality, and the people are all top notch. From several weeks before we arrived, the staff (Alex, Luisa, and Andrea, amongst others) were busy booking us all kinds of things- concert tickets, dinner reservations, etc. This went on throughout the trip, and they also did all sorts of small things, like a bit of laundering and bringing coffee up to our rooms in the morning. The food was always fresh, and the selection changed every day. Given the fact that this is an old house, there are some minor quirks. For instance, there is no air conditioning, but this was never a problem with us and we were there in early June. You have to be a little careful about the plumbing (no paper in the toilet) but the shower worked great, we had tons of hot water, and the fluffy white towels were always clean and plentiful. Our bed was super comfortable, and we enjoyed just hanging out in the room. We did make use of the double paned windows to block out any street noise. Make sure you have an Uber app, the hotel is located a little distant from popular areas like Roma. But this is why the hotel is maybe half the price of the Roma hipster places. So what’s there not to love? Our only problem is that we are now spoiled and cannot stay any place else!

Absolutely recommended!

What a beautiful place! I wouldve stayed here longer if I didn't have another booking already. Luisa, Alex and Andrea, the front desk staff, are beyond amazing, they really went above and beyond for me. Im absolutely coming back.
