As mountain bases go, this lodge outside of Banff fits the bill, bringing a contemporary cabin style to spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom suites. Everything you need for comfortable living is here: gas fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens, 42-inch flatscreen TVs and private decks with gas BBQs. After a day hiking the stunning Canadian Rockies or shredding powder in the world-famous Lake Louise ski area, enjoy a dip in the heated outdoor pool and steamy hot tubs.
In the Area
This stretch of the Canadian Rockies is known for superior powder, and three top-notch resorts are located within Banff National Park: Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village. Between the three resorts there’s almost 8,000 acres of skiable terrain and mountain peaks that are so epic the United Nations has declared the area a World Heritage site. Best of all, this northern latitude rocks one of the longest ski seasons in North America, from mid-November until late May. Come summer, the resort puts you within striking distance of a handful of great golf courses, including Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club, Silvertip Golf Resort, Canmore Golf and Curling Club and Banff Springs Golf Club.
How to Get There
At $1100 a night I was expecting more. It feels old and worn out. The appliances are low quality. To summarize cheap finishes with lots of wear and tear. I won’t be back.
A few years ago I did stay at this companies Copperstone property it was much better and I would stay there again. I thought this would be similar, it’s not even close.
We have stayed here before, and came back because we enjoyed it there. Room was quite nice with very good amenities, clean and tidy, staff was unfailingly polite and friendly. We will definitely plan to stay here next time we are in Canmore.
We had a two bedroom room in the resort and we loved it. Tonnes of room, great views of the mountain. There is a balcony with a very nice barbeque and a full size modern kitchen with everything you need to enjoy meals in your room. The outdoor pool was a good size and very clean. Hot tub outside was large and not too busy at any point during our stay. Every staff member that we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. Secure underground parking. We travelled from the hotel to Banff to see the parks a couple of times and it was an easy commute.
This hotel property was amazing and the room was just as good. One of the most comfortable beds we've slept in. The full kitchen was great to eat breakfast and pack lunches for the next day on the trails. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a long day out exploring. The Canmore location is great, a lot to do and it is an easy 1 km walk along the river path to many restaurants, shopping and bars in the city center. The Black Dog cafe connected to the property was great for a quick coffee, tea, snack, panni or drink (beer/wine). We will be back and will encourage all friends and family to stay here in the future.
Bigger space than other rentals this trip, pool area is nice. easy walk into down town. the views are very good almost anywhere in this town. the kitchen was fairly well equipped, in room coffee was supplied .
