Overview

Calgary’s chicest sleep satisfies culture vultures and business travelers alike

The Lowdown

This newly built hotel’s 143 guestrooms and suites are the city’s best, packing plenty of style into a residential package with warm wood accents, plenty of natural light and spa-like marble bathrooms with peekaboo glass showers. It’s easy to be green here, so much so that guests won’t even know they’re using low-flow toilets, energy-efficient lights and geothermic-heated radiant floors. The sybaritic Santé Spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center are perched atop the hotel for panoramic views, while on the ground level Charcut Roast House pays homage to the town’s cowboy roots grilling up steaks and game in a custom rotisserie and charbroiler.

In the Area

This stretch of the Canadian Rockies outside of Calgary is known for superior powder, and three top-notch resorts are located within Banff National Park: Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village. Between the three resorts there’s more than 8,000 acres of skiable terrain and mountain peaks that are so epic the United Nations has declared the area a World Heritage site. Best of all, this northern latitude rocks one of the longest ski seasons in North America, from mid-November until late May. If you’re sticking around town, check out the 360-degree views from the top of the 626-foot Calgary Tower. While you’re up there, have a bite at the tower-top restaurant SKY 360 — it does a full rotation every hour.

Perfect stay

I stayed at le Germain Calgary (always stay there when I visit) and my time there is just right! The bed is very comfortable and, the room are just right. Their complimentary breakfast is great and so convenient. I happened to dine at Charcut with a group of co-workers and the food was great! I would not stay anywhere else.

When staying downtown this is a top choice

If you are tired of mammoth hotels that all look the same no matter where you go, do not overlook Le Germaine. This Calgary hotel is perfectly located, cute, exclusive and out of the ordinary in a good way. Beautiful suites, impressive features in some such as tubs that fill from the ceiling, great waterfall showers and workspaces. The free breakfast is a little disappointing and out of step with the rest of the Le Germaine experience. There is also a small restaurant in the lobby, tasty and a perfect lounge for end of day cocktails. If you get the chance, experience Cowtown from the unique POV of Le Germaine...you will not regret it.

Very good experience

I’m staying here every time I visit Calgary. Quality of service is definitely above average service offered in Canadian hotels. Rooms are modern and clean, spacious and well equipped. Fitness area is an asset. They only minus is lack of any fresh vegetables or deli meat at breakfast. It’s very carb / bread based meal. The healthier option are cereal / porridge and some fruit.

Top shelf service

We were booked in a 4 star across the street....they told my wife and I we could have double beds, nothing else. Called Le Germain. Asked them to come get us, told us would be there right away. I expected van. In less than 2 minutes THE HOTEL MANAGER and front desk manager, walked to carry our luggage to their hotel! Our prestige king room was perfect. The staff is friendly and attentive. Of special note: Dan the concierge. He is a professional and obviously does his job with passion, something rare in this day and time. The only thing that was not a '10' was the restaurant service. It was ok but not up to par with the rest of the hotel. We will stay her our next trip to Calvary, that is for sure.

Best hotel to stay at in Alberta

Excellent accommodation, great staff and exceptional service. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and they provided a complementary bottle of champagne in our room. Room was very comfortable and clean with ultra-modern bathroom facilities. we will stay there any time we are in Calgary.
