How to Get There
visited by boat tied up at their moorings and went ashore we had a one year old in the party of five and had to cancel another two adults and a two year old due to the latter getting sick the staff were understanding and caring and after aperitifs
outside we were ushered into the dining room [somewhat nervous due to the unpredictability of the child]he was good however and we had a delicious meal with attentive service it is not cheap but well worth it we will return hopefully without the id
I took my mum, who is in her 80s for a facial and afternoon tea as a birthday gift. This was part of a Travelzoo offer and was amazing value for money. We both had an 'illuminate and rejuvenate' facial - 60 minutes of sheer bliss. It was really relaxing and the products used were luxurious. After this wonderful experience, we enjoyed a high quality afternoon tea with a very good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes, with a mini lemon posset as the 'icing on the cake'! Everything was lovely and fresh and the scones were beautifully light, and warm. From when we arrived to leaving two hours later, all the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. I would definitely come back again.
Stayed for one night in the Rosehip room. When we return we'll ask for a different room as this room is directly above the reception so is a little noisy. The staff and food are fantastic. The evening meal and breakfast were both excellent and the staff can not do enough to help you. Special mention to Liam who made sure our stay was great fun. We are already looking forward to returning.
Wow, this hotel is something special. The location is the most peaceful setting on the banks of the Norfolk broads in what is a wildlife sanctuary. The room/ suite was incredibly well appointed, newly re-furbished with top quality mattresses and spotlessly clean. The service and food were excellent. We look forward to staying again. Highly recommended for all occasions. Thank you.
We stayed for one night on Saturday 9th June 2018 for my husband’s daughter’s wedding. We were grateful to be able to check-in early to get changed. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly especially Ollie who went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed.
We had a room overlooking the car park which was very clean and well equipped for everything you may need for a one night stay. The ensuite was tiny and you had to close the door to see the toilet. There was no bath but a good sized shower cubicle. The bed was large and comfortable but the pillows were very hard. Although it was quiet for most of the night, if the guests in the room above us moved, you could hear every creak on their floor. Likewise, when guests in other rooms next to us started to take showers/baths, the plumbing noises was quite disruptive especially if you are asleep. Breakfast was disappointing. For anyone expecting a ‘full English’, the cooked breakfast was served to you but in a small portion. At busy times, there is a queue for the toast which you make yourself and items had run out such as fresh fruit, plates, spoons.
The room and breakfast for two people was £165 for the night which we felt was expensive and didn’t represent good value for money.
Clearly, we stayed because of the wedding but unlikely to return again.
NB: There was a less than favourable aroma in the garden right near the wedding ceremony venue which, at times, was quite noticeable and unpleasant.
