Very run down but great staff save it

Most of the reviews here seem to rate this place as a great place to stay. In theory it could be but sadly the place is very run down.

I’ll start with the positives: it’s set in an amazing location and during fall it’s stand out beautiful. Secondly the staff here are superb and will do everything they can to help you. But that’s where the good news ends.

The whole centre is really run down. The rooms are showing so much wear and tear that I am amazed things aren’t fall off when you touch them. You can see from the pictures the state of the room I was in. Marked and chipped surfaces. Badly repainted door after a lock was taken off. Dirty curtains with god knows what. A HUGE set of hairs in my bed (ugh), dirty doors with some sort of dirt splashes, marks on the walls, dirt in vents etc. I don’t think the rooms are hoovered at all as I dropped a small piece of paper on the floor and it never moved once the whole week I was there.

There’s no room safe so you are going to have to look after your own valuables. The food at the buffet is very average and poor selection / temperature. It just feels like an experience you don’t want to have to do again sadly.

So quiet and beautiful. We could have spent the day just exploring the grounds. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. When we booked we weren't sure what to expect, but this a hidden gem. The view was just amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Very helpful staff

I stayed here for 3 nights for training in Rockleigh, NJ. Heather at the front desk was extremely helpful. I had a free evening and wanted to go into New York City as I had never been there. She helped me figure out the best route to take and even printed off different bus and train schedules so I could have multiple options. She really helped me have a fun evening out to the “Big Apple”.
