How to Get There
Expensive but it's finally Mannhatan and one of the most famous hotels. The rooms were really presidential like the whole hotel. You could see the signs of time here and there, but in the end they built this hotel a long time ago. However, I felt very special and the highest grade for it.
My Son invited us for a dinner at this wonderful hotel at which he was staying on business. I would find it a stretch to stay here but as his business takes him to places like this it was a treat. The food was perfect and the quantity was large, as enjoyed by Americans. I took the advantage of buying one of their robes for $70 with a gold crest which has pride of place in my bathroom. Wonderful hotel..
We actually stayed at the Waldorf in 2016 but I couldn’t get the date to come up on TripA.....and I’ve only just started writing reviews!
Our room was dated and could do with some TLC...it is an iconic hotel but the room wasn’t great. I think they have tried to maintain the authentic feel but i found it lacking and was a little disappointed. However, the main lobby is quite stunning and is everything you would expect from such a hotel. All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful & polite.
Expensive (NY!) for what you get - it's pretty dated... could use an update. If I could give it a 3.5 I'd do that but bumped it up to 4 since it was fine. Not exactly what I was expecting given the price and the Waldorf Astoria name - but it was for a work trip, so at least I didn't have to pay for it. :) Great location from a work perspective and good experience overall, service wise.
The hotel looks a little dated in places, but the staff were friendly and the food was divine. Actually the staff were excellent, all of them were extremely professional and helpful. Thankfully we had the same waitress for breakfast for all of our 3 day stay and she was a real credit to the hotel.
The reception offers plenty of seating so I was able to unwind and read a book :)
The rooms were clean but we couldn't adjust the air conditioning to turn the temperature down again a little dated
