$1000 per night for a disgusting suite.
margaret e

Booked a suite and two premium rooms. The suite was $1000 per night. Absolute disgusting condition. The table has rings on it from the previous guests. There is a large spooge like stain on the bedroom wall. The shower floor is infested with mold, fungus and mildew. After multiple complaints I was offered a downgraded room. I had the good sense to check it out first. It had peeling wallpaper and it smelled. We were then told there would be a cleaning crew that would give the suite a “VIP” cleaning. Nope. At least the rings from the previous guests were cleaned off. And to top it off, one of our people staying on the premium room used the iron to press his shirt. There was hunk on the iron and it ruined his shirt. This place is a s***hole. Stay away.

Avoid at all costs

We stayed 4 nights here in July through Virgin Holidays. We spent nothing in the hotel and was given a receipt on checking out showing that there was nothing to pay, so it was extremely upsetting when we arrived home to find that £122 had been debited from my credit card account for no reason. I have tried contacting the hotel for the refund of this illegal transaction but have received no response. Having read other reviews on Trip Advisor, it seems that this is a common occurrence. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Lovely hotel at a convenient location

We stayed here as a family of 4 (2 sons aged 18 and 20) to celebrate 4 days in New York for special b/days this year. We thought that the hotel was lovely and met our expectations. We were on the 34th floor, had lovely views over the Hudson River and had interconnecting rooms. We booked the holiday through Virgin Holidays, so we had none of the local tax and other things that other travellers experienced at the hotel. We were given $240 credit which enabled us to have breakfast on 2 mornings (2 American and 2 continental). The breakfasts were probably quite expensive but I thought they were very nice. Continental included everything cold; cereals, yoghurts, fruit, cheese, salmon, various pastries, bread, tea, coffee and juice. The American included everything there, my sons loving the freshly made waffles with bacon and maple syrup in particular. Staff were always polite and very attentive, even when we said we had been charged incorrectly for the breakfasts, they soon sorted and apologised.
The rooms were lovely and spacious with very comfortable beds and bedding, in fact so nice, we meant to ask what they were... Bathrooms were lovely too. We had no issues at all with the hotel or staff. They made a very nice gesture of providing a gorgeous birthday cake for celebrating our birthdays with some sparkling water. One of the best cakes we have ever had too!! We were able to keep luggage ina locked room after we checked out so we could still enjoy the rest of our time in New York.
On the whole, we had an amazing time there and would definately return to this hotel again if we should ever go back to NY one day.
