Overview

A boutique retreat in one of New York’s most dynamic neighborhoods, with coffee, tea and pastries

The Lowdown

With an impressive address in the heart of the vibrant and fashionable Flatiron District, The MAve is the perfect boutique base for a Manhattan escape. In every direction, you have some of the best restaurants in New York, and the sights and shopping of Fifth Avenue, Union Square, Gramercy and Chelsea all within walking distance. Ever heard someone talk about “taking Manhattan”? That’s exactly what you can do here, starting with Madison Square Park, one block down.
Referencing the neighborhood’s rich history and contemporary style, the hotel’s eclectic artwork, hardwood floors and distinctive interiors – guest rooms boast nine-foot ceilings – are Big Apple to the core. There’s even a Birch Coffee that shares the hotel’s address, so you can do as so many of the Manhattanites do and get caffeinated, before hitting the town. In fact, even the hotel’s name makes you feel oh-so New York – because if there are lots of people who can say they stayed on M. (Madison) Ave. (Avenue), how many can also say that they stayed inside it?

Rooms

Hardwood floors, dark mahogany furniture, a burgundy headboard and urban-inspired artwork add drama to the guest rooms, which boast nine-and-a-half-foot high ceilings. In the Urban Full room, you’ll have 165 square feet and a full bed, a 13.5-in. pillow-top mattress in Belgian-cotton linens, while the Boulevard King room gives you 280 square feet and a king bed.

Dining

The quintessential New York coffeehouse experience can be found at Birch Coffee, with its signature cold-brew iced coffee, cappuccinos and chai lattes. There’s also an organic all-day dining menu of sweet and savory favorites, including homemade granola, classic egg sandwiches, quinoa salad and grilled cheese with garlic and basil. The Flatiron District and Union Square are also home to some of the best restaurants in New York City, so you’ll easily be able to stumble upon delicious grub when you venture out.

Location

The MAve’s impressive Madison Avenue address is in the heart of the trendy Flatiron District, home to exceptional shopping and restaurants. Stroll through Madison Square Park to the Flatiron Building, enjoy foodie heaven at Eataly and browse the stores of Fifth Avenue. You’re also a short walk or cab ride from Greenwich Village, Chelsea and Midtown, and all that they have to offer.

Amazing experience

Me and a friend were looking for hotels near by and we saw The Mave. Once we arrived Jessica greeted us and checked us in. Jessica made us feel so welcomed she was nice, friendly and professional. She explained all the amenities the hotel had to offer in great detail. The hotel was so nice and clean and our room was perfect. I will definitely come back to The Mave because of the way we were treated and how beautiful it was. Thank you Jessica for this wonderful experience hope to see you next time I check in!!!

Great stay , great staff

I had the most amazing customer service experience here. Jose at the front desk answered the phone on the first ring when I called to make an inquiry before I even checked in and answered my question but what really impressed me was how friendly he was , describing amenities of the hotel and nearby attractions , never sounding rushed or impatient . I’m so used to people acting as if I’m interrupting their day when I ask questions but Jose so professional. When I arrived to check in it was very late and I was tired but he and Travis were an effective team , getting me checked in yum quickly: making sure I had everything I would need, it was a treat to deal with these guys . The room was spacious and clean , with modern and sophisticated amenities but what a fantastic host Jose was. I’ll be back next month and I will stay here again because of how well I was treated

Not a real hotel!

I booked a night at the MAve hotel via what looked like a legitimate website and received confirmation from the hotel of my reservation. When I showed up to check in I was shocked to find that it is not a real hotel and had to scramble to find a hotel in NYC!

Very Misleading

Maybe they were having a bad week, but,,,

Check-in was chaotic despite being the only people in line. No towels when we arrived. My co-worker's towels were never brought up. When she called down they said to come down to the front desk and get them herself.

Iron broke. Crazy noises all night - literally screaming and people banging on doors. Street noise. VERY misleading website - (Velour bathrobe? Breakfast? HAHA!!). Random, rough-looking people hanging out in the lobby at all hours.

Good location. Bed was fine. Would not stay again.
