How to Get There
We were spending our first weekend away in a while. At check-in, when I didn’t answer the clerk fast enough, I was asked the question again rudely. Mind you, there was no one else in line, and a second or two had passed since the question was asked. No discussion of validating our parking, which proved to be quite costly to us at the end of our weekend ($140).
The linens were worn, and not in good condition. The room, while reasonably clean was extremely small and very cramped.
Not the experience we had hoped for.
Great hotel although no bar or restaurant. We had to use the sister hotel a couple of buildings away.
Subway also clise by too...easy access to World Trade Centre.
Problem with the heating which was quickly resolved too.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Nice room. I appreciated the magnifying mirror. Water pressure in the shower is awful, and the hair dryer is really weak. Internet access is annoying because you have to log in every single time you use it, rate the hotel, give a reason for your rating, and enter your email address for follow up. A lot of hotels allow you to stay logged in for 24 hours. Never found the hot water for tea in the 2nd floor lounge.
The location of this hotel is right across the street from Rockefeller Center, so it’s very convenient if you’re visiting this area. I had an event at 30 Rock, and it took me no time to get there.
There isn’t much of a lobby. The check in area is very small, but the staff is very friendly. They also had jars of candy on the front table, so I ate a few of these while waiting to check in. You need the elevator key to access the elevator so it’s safe.
WiFi is free so that was a good thing.
The room itself was small. The air conditioner didn’t work well but we were able to open the windows. The bed was pretty comfortable. The shower had good water pressure, and the layout was pretty nice.
WiFi is free here, so that’s always a plus.
This small hotel was clean, perfectly locaded and had friendly staff. The bed was very comfortably and the room was quite big for a room in a big city hotel. Free M&Ms and coffee/the in the lounge. :-)
