TRYP Times Square could deck itself out into something so bright and bold that you’d never want to leave, but then you’d miss out on the landmark that it’s named for. With its flashing lights and vivid videos, Times Square out-brights and out-bolds pretty much everywhere else on Earth, and that’s why this property a half-block away from the iconic plaza keeps things sleek, modern and simple.
Wake up in the most energetic neighborhood of the city that never sleeps, and stroll a few minutes over to the main drag itself, where the skyscraper-side screens never stop cycling through ads in high-definition technicolor. Take your breakfast to the electric-red steps rising high above the bustling pedestrians, and hop back down to score Broadway tickets at the TKTS booth. Hit any of the 10 nearby subway lines to travel almost anywhere you want in the city, and then head back in the evening to your show of choice. Chances are that its theater will be within doors of your room at TRYP.
Rooms at TRYP are simple, comfortable spaces designed to leave the dazzling to the main attraction: nearby Times Square. Choose from one queen, one king bed or two twins, or upgrade to the spacious family-friendly option. Premium rooms have one queen bed and one bunk bed. Please note that bunk beds are suitable for children only.
TRYP has two tempting restaurants lined up to choose from. Seek An’nam specializes in wholesome Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine, and Ding – opening soon – will be your go-to for smoky, belly-filling BBQ food. Primary Lounge, the property’s bar, also offers premium drinks.
As a guest at TRYP, you’re a half-block from Times Square itself, and almost next door to legendary Broadway theaters. Tack on another few blocks, and you’re at the Empire State Building or Madison Square Garden. Should you want to hit another neck of the woods entirely, you’re within six blocks of 10 subway lines that can take you to almost every Manhattan neighborhood, and beyond.
How to Get There
Great room, comfy bed and was very clean! Couldn’t hear any of the noises from outside so always had a fab sleep! Great location too with Times Square right at the corner. Staff were lovely and attentive
The hotel itself is in a brilliant location. 2 mins walk to Times Square. Lovely modern rooms. We got upgraded when we arrived to the top floor suite which had a huge roof terrace with great views. Most of the staff are lovely. Especially Suny on the front desk. BUT... the concierge lady with the ginger hair needs to learn some customer service, the way she spoke to us when we asked her for advice was appalling, made us feel unwelcome and stupid to be asking the question! It wasn’t only us that experienced this either, another elderly couple that we got talking to had the same treatment aswell. So my overall 2 score is because of this treatment otherwise it would have been a 5. Just one person can make all the difference.
Location is directly in Times Square and a short walk from everywhere. Rooms are small but nothing smaller than I was expecting in New York! Room was clean and modern. Bathroom was tiny though so was a real struggle getting a shower all in all was a fab place to stay in New York City and I would definitely return!
