How to Get There
I decided on this hotel as I prefer to stay in hotels that are a bit different then the chains when on vacation. This hotel in midtown NY has a very good location and it is possible to reach quite a few of the NY tourist attractions by foot. A short walk to Central Park or Times Square and it is also quite possible to walk to the Empire State building. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was very large and had everything we needed. It was also spotlessly clean. Bed was comfy and huge. Breakfast was okay - more or less sweet stuff (bought some ham at the grocery store and all was well). Notably the coffee was really good !!! Noisy - but that is New York - the city that never sleeps. To be clear: the noise is from the outside, from the streets - not from the other hotel rooms. We enjoyed our stay and thank everyone who helped make it such a nice experience.
We stayed at the Blakely Hotel for 6 days in September in a junior suite.
The Blakely is quite an intimate hotel - we didn’t have to wait to check in or out and someone was always on hand to talk to- and they were all incredibly helpful.
Our room was extremely spacious and the - wonderfully comfortable bed - was massive. The pressure of the water in the shower was superb. The coffee machine was such a bonus. I can’t recall the make of pods it took, but tea and coffee were both very good - we bought our own milk from the grocery store and stored it in the fridge. It was so, so peaceful too. With the Black Tap down near the lobby, the noise level did concern me, but I needn’t have worried as we didn’t hear a thing.
Breakfast was not bad at all, considering it was included, with a nice selection of fresh fruit, oatmeal/porridge, nice bagels and cream cheese. The table clearers were very efficient and all in all it was a good experience, but PLASTIC SINGLE USE CUTLERY, come on people!!?
The location is absolute perfection, with 5th Avenue shopping, Central Park and Times Square just moments away.
I will definitely return to this hotel if they sort out the plastic cutlery.
We had a comfortable stay at The Blakely Hotel. Lobby is small but comfortable and lovely decorated. The reception desk employees were very friendly and gave a lot of great information. We had a king suite and it was perfect. Good water pressure in the shower, bed was very comfortable, ac unit was loud but it worked perfectly.
Great location! Close the a lot of NY’s best sites. Parking was right next door. So glad we found this hotel would definitely stay there again and would recommend.
