How to Get There
We had the most incredible stay here at Staybridge Suites! Our trip started off with a terrible AirB&B in Harlem so we had to get out of there! We found this amazing place and were impressed by our first impression with the staff as we were greeted by David who also helped us with our bags since we were not going to be checking in until 4 pm. David was so kind and helpful and really made an impression! We stayed there a total of 2 nights and had quite a lot of interaction with him. I can say that he truly helped make this trip memorable. A couple times I had to ask him if I could get to my bags again to retrieve something else and he took me there right away with a smile. He also helped provide good advice for the bus around the City. Staybridge Suites is very lucky to have David!
On our last day, I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye so I wanted to leave this review to let him know how much we appreciated him!
This was Our First Visit to The Staybridge Suites Times Square. My Girlfriend and I are both over 60 years of age, and we wanted to have a "girls weekend" in NYC.
My Husband found this hotel for us because he wanted us to not only be safe, but also to be close to the major attractions, the subway, and Times Square.
On Our First day, we met an Outstanding Employee by the name of David Pegram, Bellman.
David always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome.
We were a little intimidated with travel to area attractions by subway, however, David obtained a subway map for us and clearly outlined our route for us.
At the end of the day, He took the time to ask us how our journey was and Congratulated us on having a successful trip.
He seemed to take a personal interest in other hotel guests as well, making them feel truly Welcome at Staybridge Suites.
Thank you David Pegram for all your help. Sincerely, your guests from South Carolina
This hotel is conveniently located on 40th between 8th and 9th. It is directly beside the Port Authority Terminal. Super handy for transit. It about a 9 minute walk to Penn station. It’s not the fanciest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but it serves its purpose. The rooms are a good size (for NYC) and have a kitchen with a full sized fridge. You are charged an extra $5 per day for this (whether you use the kitchen or not). The best part of this hotel is the free breakfast and managers happy hour (Monday-Thursday 5:00-7:00).
The breakfast is awesome! There are three areas to enjoy it: in the basement (least busy), on the main floor and a quick grab and go in the bar at the front. They have ANYTHING you can think of (pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, bagels, oatmeal....). The managers special has pour your own draft beer (Stella and Bud Lite) and white and red wine. The food provided can help save on paying for an expensive dinner out. We were there on Greek Night and had chicken pitas with Greek salad!
Everything is within walking distance, and I highly recommend renting Citi Bikes to get where you want to go. (Fast and cheap...most Street have bike lanes). Get the app and you pay $12 for a full 3 day rental! The area is a little sketchy (but lots of sections of NYC are). The front desk staff were awesome and the gentleman who took care of our luggage was great!
We recently spent 4 nights at this hotel. The suites were very clean and well equipped with a fridge freezer and basic cooking facilities.
Very central for walking to the sights, we walked miles!
Only one quibble was they added on 20 dollars a day for cleaning which we found odd as surely cleaning should be included in a hotel stay! We usually tip the cleaners in any case but felt somewhat reluctant after this charge was added, so left just a couple of dollars.
We stayed here for four nights. Just off Times Square, the location was excellent for getting around. Rooms had fridge/freezer and simple cooking facilities. Breakfast was included and offered something for everyone. A most enjoyable stay.
