How to Get There
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Yes, it’s expensive! But it’s Manhattan, and the location is fantastic. We are Marriott members. Our room was renovated and had everything you could want. It was small but we expected that. Minor complaint is that the sheets were scratchy, and the top bedding layers were quite thin. But the room heater worked fine so we stayed warm enough. I'm sure we could have requested a blanket, but didn't.
We were on the 21st floor and had the fast elevator service. There are multiple banks of elevators. The lower floor elevators were slower and much more crowded.
I loved having the Starbucks in the lobby. Beware it’s packed every morning with long lines. It turns into a bar in the evening that also serves food. We had dinner there one evening and the food was great. Again it was very expensive and in addition to a tip already included, there was another 15% service charge that we were not told about prior to ordering.
Our room came with a $25/night extra charge, but that included a $35/night hotel restaurant credit. We spent that on one dinner.
All employees that we talked with were very nice. Sometimes the lobby areas - registration and concierge - get very busy, but staff seems to work hard to get people through as quickly as possible.
We would stay here again. The location can't be beat.
Decent location. It’s 4 blocks from Times Square. Beds were terribly uncomfortable and pillows were worse. It was clean and service from staff was good. Overall I would not stay here again but it is not the worst place I have stayed.
I stayed in Sheraton Times Square February 7-11. Upon arriving, I was told that my reservation had been canceled. The front desk had no solution and made it seem that I would not be staying there. I had booked my reservation online and used trivago and had gotten an email three days prior confirming. I insisted that he get the manager. He came back and said that they were looking into it. As you can imagine, I was extremely stressed, just getting into New York, flying all dat from Florida. I was On the verge of tears and traveling without my husband. The manager, Bentley, finally came out to say I have a reservation.
Once we FINALLY made it to our room, I realized we have no refrigerator, so called the front desk to ask if I could get one delivered. They said of course, with a fee of $50. I asked if upgrade to club level would it be included. She said yes.
I then went to the front desk to ask to upgrade. I was told by front desk that to upgrade to club level would be $35 a night. This agent and Bentley said it was $75 a night. Bentley was then extremely rude. I have traveled to New York several times and this was the WORST customer service I have experienced and would not recommend to anyone. This is no four star hotel.
Shame on them for treating customers like they will be out on the streets. I decided not to pursue my complaints while there because I didn’t want to continue dwelling so that I could enjoy my vacation.

They didn't get everything perfect without prompting, but as soon as I brought things to their attention, they fixed them immediately.
We also had a cleaning rag left in the room. So the room was clean, but that detail was overlooked.
We loved this hotel. Rooms are a great size. We stayed 4 adults with 2 double beds and there was plenty of room for all. Rooms are very modern and clean.
BE CAREFUL DO NOT take anything out of the mini bar not even to look at it. Once you remove it the credit card you leave when you check in will be charged. One of my friends decided to look at one and somehow my credit card got charged over $500. There are sensors everywhere in the fridge and that system talks to another system multiplied by the duration of your stay and there you have an unexpected charge on your CC. The front desk was super helpful and let us know that the charges would be removed (This has yet to happen since I only got back yesterday but I will keep an eye out for this in the next few days) and also took the time to explain the charges to us.
They do charge a destination fee of about $26 USD per night so be prepared for that. But on the upside the offer you a $35 per night credit which you are able to use towards breakfast or room service which is super nice.
The staff in general are all friendly. the cleaning staff especially.
We stayed on the 25th which was perfect because those elevators weren't as busy as the main elevators which was nice. Room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels given everyday.
i would definitely return to this hotel as it is situated right in the middle of everything. About a 10 min walk to central park, Rockefeller Center, Broadway, and time square we loved it.
