Fresh off an $85 million renovation in 2013, the Stonehill & Taylor-designed Novotel reflects the energy of the hotel’s prime perch in Times Square. A chrome and black palette mirrors the surrounding skyscrapers, pendants shaped like the New Year’s Eve ball light the entrance and two-story Samsung video columns mimic the panoramic Times Square views from the lofty lounge. This high-tech space also features an LCD touch-screen virtual concierge, an XBOX 360 gaming corner for kids and 40-inch Microsoft Surface interactive tables.
Bed and Bath
The 480 serene guestrooms serve as counterpoints to the Big Apple action with plush white bedding, subdued grey and blue accents and soundproofed windows. But guests can remain plugged in via 46-inch flatscreens, LED backlit headboards and Times Square, Broadway or Hudson River views. Bathrooms are on the small side but come equipped with rainfall showers and Novotel brand toiletries.
Attached to the lobby lounge, Supernova restaurant serves up American comfort food with an unobstructed view of Times Square. Sip cocktails beside a fire pit on a swanky terrace that wraps around three sides of the building. Or, catch a glimpse of Times Square from the treadmills in the 24-hour fitness center on the eighth floor.
In the Area
Join the theatergoers for a Broadway show at one of the venues located next to the Novotel after scoring some same-day discount tickets at the TKTS booth. For a more interactive theater experience, attend Randy Weiner’s Queen of the Night, where the audience is pulled into a sultry scene of dancing, dining and acrobatics. Stroll to the iconic Grand Central Terminal and stop for a classic cocktail at Campbell Apartment or satisfy your seafood craving at chef Sandy Ingber’s Grand Central Oyster Bar. For a quick bite, don’t miss carnivore favorite, Shake Shack, or splurge on a bucket list meal at the Michelin-starred Le Bernardin. Le Bernardin fans should also try its oenophile sister, Aldo Sohm Wine Bar.
How to Get There
It was an ok Hotel but in a nice location. I used my points to pay half of the bill, however the staff wasn`t used to this condition. I had some really bad time there, but in the end it was ok. I would return, by the way.
Having visited many times this is the absolute best Hotel we’ve stayed in New York. Why? Well, the location, the rooms, the staff, the restaurant, they made this hotel the best choice. Do not hesitate honestly you won’t be disappointed and we are very fussy. Ate in the restaurant for a scrumptious evening meal. Didn’t opt for breakfast, when in New York we love to try street food. The outside balcony is just brilliant. Don’t listen to any comments about the lifts, most we waited maybe a couple of minutes. Housekeeping staff also excellent.
Thank you for making our holidays that little bit more special. ????????????????????????????
This was our second stay at the Novotel Times Square. Having enjoyed our first stay immensely in August 2018, we decided to return for our daughter's 21st and, again, Novotel didn't disappoint.
The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are very polite and helpful (don't understand past reviews saying that the staff are rude??). Stella, at reception, was particularly lovely and assisted greatly at check-in (our Times Square room which we had previously requested to be upgraded to a few months before had not been added to our booking). Although our first night was in a standard room on a 'lower' floor, Stella went out of her way to find us a superb room on the 29th floor, overlooking Times Square for the remainder of our 4 night stay. Thank you Stella!
The room was clean and fairly spacious, certainly large enough for myself and my husband and 2 daughters. The only issue we had was, not enough towels, and although we left a note for housekeeping for more we were only provided the extra once! But we made do!
One lovely touch, and this was also thanks to Stella, guest relations left a small cake and 'Happy Birthday' note in our room for my daughter's Birthday!
Overall, this hotel is comfortable, is perfectly located for access to all of the attractions and the views from the rooms and terrace are amazing. If we return to New York, we would DEFINITELY stay here again. Thank Novotel, Times Square!
