Great location and awesome service
Reviewed 1 week ago

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon June 8th – 15th.

We arrived early so our room wasn’t ready yet. Not a problem, they were happy to hold our bags for us so we could wander the neighborhood and find someplace to get some lunch.

The check-in process was very easy and friendly. Nice lobby area.

The room was smaller than hotels outside NYC, but as expected. The décor was very nice and the room was clean. Great bed, awesome standup shower and terrific views from the 17th floor.

We had no problems whatsoever and experienced friendly service at every turn. As the week wore on we had a few days where we got a late start, simply informed the front desk of this as we left and our room was serviced before our return.
The tiniest issue was that we were charged for a $3 item from the mini bar, which we didn’t use at all. They happily removed that from our bill.

I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great central location that is sort of Chelsea and sort of Midtown. Closest subway is at the end of the block, others are a very short walk to the north. So easy. Great restaurants within walking distance. We will stay here again if we return to NYC!!

One caveat: I will say that, if the rooftop bar thing is important to you, then do not use that as a criteria to select this hotel. Too many times the bar is being used for special events (this could easily be true of other hotels in the area) and it is really nothing special. Drinks are $15 and service is lackluster. I will not ding the hotel overall for this though because the hotel itself is GREAT!!

Thank you, Hotel Hayden!!

Located on a not-so-clean street and the room was stuffy

The location of the hotel is close to Penn station, but it's located on a street that's full of flower/plant shops, and the streets are not the cleanest. Also the air conditioning is blowing right into one of the beds - not the most pleasant location. It's also impossible to ventilate the room - it gets really stuffy after a day or two.

Nice room, great location, walked everywhere but Subway is also very close! Lots of eating possibilities within walking distance. Staff very friendly and professional. Walked to Rockefeller Center, MSG Banf shopping! Will stay again!

Poor management, no commitment to customer satisfaction

I had a certificate from a Church Golf Outing for a 1 night stay that I purchased in auction at the event. When I called to reserve the room with the certificate number I was told that they would not honor it without the original paper, because the person that issued it was no longer working at the hotel.

A Great Value and Location
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The room was very comfortable and had more space than a lot of rooms in the city. The mini bar items were unique and actually priced pretty well. The location was perfect for a day of exploring New York and for getting to Penn Station for an early train the next morning. The Greek restaurant was excellent, I'd dine there even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall, a great experience and we'll definitely stay here again.
