How to Get There
We booked this hotel for an anniversary trip in the fall and loved that it was so central to all of the sights we wanted to visit. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION is key. It's a 5 min walk to a few different subway stations and a short few blocks walking distance from all of the major attractions in NYC. We were greeted with kindness immediately,, although we got off to a rough start upon check-in (the first room they gave us was in the back of the hotel on the 12th floor, facing a brick wall and some offices and once we settled in and pulled back the sheets, we found a few hairs and some dirt on them, as if they were not changed before we checked in). But after calling the front desk to let them know we were not happy about the cleanliness and view, they gladly sorted things out by offering us some vouchers for complimentary cocktails in their restaurant/bar, Mykonos Blue, and checked us into a new room - one with a much better view on the 16th floor facing the front of the hotel. Very satisfied with our new room, we then headed out for the day. And when we returned later that evening after a very long day walking around NYC, we entered the room and noticed a bottle of Prosecco in an ice bucket with a lovely note-card from the Hotel Assistant Manager, Curt Horner. It said "Welcome to Hotel Hayden!! I'm happy that you chose to celebrate 7 years of wedded bliss with us! Please enjoy this small token of our appreciation and best wishes!!! (Let us know when you want it chilled). Best Wishes, Curt" Definitely a nice touch and it made our trip all that more memorable. Thank you to Curt, Graciela and the rest of the front desk/concierge staff for their hospitality and tips regarding restaurants, bars, etc. We will definitely be back again soon. Best wishes to all of you during this holiday season. Maria
Good hotel with excellent position. Room comfortable but with some problem. Window very dirty and not hermetic. Heating System very noisy. I was not able to use the wifi and they were not able to fix it.
Dirty, dusty, OVERPRICED, broken outlet's, molding missing, sediment in water, clogged toilet, PROBLEMS with TV, door wouldn't lock, use of rooftop bar was not an option as they had events every night and the last night we stayed they s as I'd the heat wasn't working which we felt was not truthful!
Great location. Discreet and accommodating service. We were afforded a large room.... a real luxury for central location. Room service and cleanliness excellent.Check out and in, fast efficient Would highly recommend
We had 2 nights booked at the hotel for a busy weekend in December. We arrived at the hotel at 9:00 AM, dropped our bags and returned around 4:00 PM to check in (check in listed at 3:00 PM) - our room was not ready until 5:30 PM. We sat in the lobby waiting for the housekeeping to inspect the room. After being checked in, we arrived at our room and found a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door (insult to injury considering the given reason for the wait). The staff was somewhat apologetic about the delay in the room (ended up giving us vouchers for breakfast - worth $30 total....) and did nothing when we told them about the dirty towel. All in all, there are too many hotels in NYC to stay here twice. For $400/night the staff and cleanliness should be more on their game.
