Great for the money

I stayed at the Doubletree in Chelsea last weekend and loved having access to everywhere in the city with a good mix of walking, car-sharing services, and public transit. The street in front of the hotel was a single lane one-way street that was relatively quiet compared to most others. The room was small as you’d expect for New York but extremely clean. The breakfast was also a nice option in the morning to grab some basic eggs/bacon/fruit and coffee before heading out. All of the staff were friendly. Overall I’d say the price and location were what attracted me to stay here and I felt I got my money’s worth. There is a nice restaurant across the street, Steak ‘N Lobster which has a great bar.

Walking around Chelsea

This hotel is in a walking distance to the Highline, Vessel at Hudson Yards, Empire State Building and Flatiron. I enjoyed the Empire State Building view from my room window. Excellent restaurants are in walking distance, such as Eataly or Izakaya Nomad.

Nasty hotel

Staff is nice, good location but dirty and nasty. It need to be renovated. Rooms are small. Very small hallways. Only two elevators and they are very slow. Need need carpet and be paint job. Trash outside door
