A sexy hideaway off Times Square with a rooftop bar and peekaboo showers
A red carpet ushers you past an imposing doorman to the lobby, a fitting entrance for a hotel whose design would be equally at home in a Meatpacking District club. The light from the French chandeliers and mod fireplace is always dim, the low-slung couches and chairs are grouped for tête-à-têtes, and everything is upholstered in please-touch fabrics such as leather and velvet.
Bed and Bath
The 111 guestrooms are on the small side but make excellent use of the available space, with work desks, slim closets and tons of storage spread among two nightstands and a plush bench at the foot of the bed. Studded leather headboards that go up almost to the ceiling act as anchors for comfy beds with crisp sheets, and an elaborate chandelier lights the room. Bathrooms are equally decadent, with double vanities, shiny marble floors and glass-walled rainfall showers.
Downstairs there’s a lounge bar that becomes a breakfast area each morning. But the real stunner is Haven, a fabric-draped, Moroccan-tinged rooftop bar. Join the local afterwork crowds for cocktails or grab a seat at the communal table to make friends while supping on comfort fare such as kobe beef sliders and grilled cheese with tomato soup.
