Smart hotel with a central location in bustling NoMad, with tktkt, tktkt, and a Danny Meyer restaurant
The Redbury’s undergone major renovations in the past couple of years and is now fresh as a daisy, drawing families, couples, and independent travelers to its super-convenient NoMad location. The rooms are compact but up-to-date, with an energizing palette of black, white, and red, and the lobby has a mid-century vibe with plenty of seating. Stop in for a spritz at the Rome-inspired Vini e Fritti bar, which does Italian aperitivos and small plates; the hotel’s café, Marchio, also takes its cue from Italy with long countertops for throwing back your morning espresso before dashing out the door. Marta, a pizzeria from Danny Meyer’s hospitality group, is open all day and turns out charred, thin-crust pizzas from its wood-burning oven, along with beer-brined chicken and inventive antipasti.
In the Area
One of the biggest perks of staying in NoMad: you're within close proximity to major NYC sights along with green space in Madison Square Park, just three blocks away. You can walk to the Empire State Building in under 10 minutes and the United Nations building in less than 30. The ultra-chic concept store Dover Street Market, just two blocks away, draws fashionistas to its provocative exhibits, collection of high-end designer clothing, and see-and-be-seen café. There’s the usual selection of chain restaurants nearby, but plenty of gems, too. Her Name is Han, a hip Korean restaurant with home cooking (and a generous banchan offering), is a five-minute walk away, as is
