How to Get There
The Langham Sydney has been our home away from home since we moved away from Sydney 4 years ago. The rooms are spacious, beds and linen are luxurious which is very important to me. The staff are always friendly and recognize returning guests. It’s located in a quiet corner of the Rocks. 👍😊
The wonderful ambience plus the warm and exceptional service from the moment we arrived made our stay a truly memorable one. All the staff were attentive and looked after us well. The Observatory Bar serve some extraordinary cocktails which is worth a try. Well done !
My overall impression from staying in different hotels throughout the world is that a 5-star hotel means different things. Our experience staying in hotels throughout Australia and New Zealand in particular has been that a 5-star hotel can feel more like a 3-star hotel you would find in the United States. This is not the case with the Langham: this is truly a 5-star experience. The hotel room was unusually spacious and the bathroom was modern and updated with quartz throughout made to look like travertine (visually appealing, very hard but chemical-safe). One of the hotel staff introduces the room and physically walks you through everything (never experienced this before). Everything you could think of in terms of cosmetic consumables were included free-of-charge (hygiene kit, lotions, shampoos, shoe-shining kit, tea, universal wall outlet converter) and there was even a pillow menu which we've never seen anywhere else we've stayed. From the pillow menu, you choose from between maybe ten different types of pillows (memory foam, regular foam, etc.) and they will bring it up to your door promptly. The bed was comfortable: medium-firm and more-so than the standard spring mattresses found throughout Australia and NZ but not exceptionally so like a memory-foam or latex mattress would be. The lobby offers unlimited free bottled water and apples. At night, a fancy-looking spread of standard candy was provided as well -- all free of charge. In our room, they provided chocolates at turn-down-time. The final, most impressive, unprecedented, and completely unexpected touch was that the staff memorized my surname and addressed me by it even when I was just in the lobby asking them a question the next night! Location-wise, you are close to where you want to be but the 7-minute walk to the train station meant that we opted for Uber when it came to transporting our heavy suitcase to the airport (the cost was 37 AUD minus tip -- not a big deal). This is a solid choice for a hotel and we would definitely book again!
The Langham Sydney not only offers a luxury stay, but with an exceptional service.
From the first impression at the front with Rosie (Valet) to Yumi and team at the reception desk, the service is at paramount.
Not only have they provided top service, but they have been very thoughtful with the little surprise's left in the room for the night of our honeymoon. It's the little things that count!
I have no hesitations in recommending The Langham Sydney to anyone looking for a quality night stay with a service that cannot be beaten.
The staff was exceptionally attentive, breakfast was very good and the overall experience memorable. The rooms are large and the bed very comfortable.
The location of the hotel is walking distance to all places and very convenient.
