How to Get There
Beautiful hotel, large room, the biggest bed I have seen and comfortable. Full bathroom, good wardrobe with full length mirrors. Well lit dressing table with stool. Magnifying mirror in bathroom.
Foxtel and wi fi.
We thought long and hard about whether to stay at the Langham. We actually spent a few nights at the Park Hyatt as well. The Langham is definitely the better property. Here is why: The Langham is better located. It is up a quiet street, still a very easy stroll down to the Rocks but you are not fighting with all the folks just off the HUGE cruise ships. This is actually a neighborhood. Some guests actually work for a living so it is not just tourists. You can have a view of the harbor and it is nice- the skinny on the construction is that it is way over rated. They are working on a big project but it is city white noise, nothing to upset your enjoyment of the balcony and it is WAY quieter than the crooners at the wharf bars should you be staying at the Hyatt. The rooms are lovely. Maybe there is a bit more furniture in them in an English way than I would like, but they are clean, comfy and nice. The bathrooms are lovely as well. The pool spa is beautiful. It is a large pool that is quiet but not outside if that matters to you. OTH the roof pool at the Hyatt had way too much Euro pop playing for my taste. The breakfast is filling and sweet. You can have a realAussie breakfast or plenty of pastries, eggs etc. The room service menu (and I generally dislike the room service offerings everywhere) were to die for. The salads and sweet potato fries hit the spot. And for your homesick Yanks, they stock Heinz. The Real stuff not tomato sauce. The service at the front desk, the concierge, especially Rosie out front (please let her wear a hat suited for the Sydney climate not what works in London)were absolutely perfect. In Sydney, stay here!
We were going to a wedding so we needed somewhere they would take pets, this 5 Star hotel was just perfect from the concierge to the check in. We had the most beautiful room which was spacious and exceptionally clean. The pool and spa were amazing. Will be definitely staying there again.
Excellent very attentive service. Great attention to detail. Also very well situated for meetings. Only detraction was the construction site on the Western end, however hotel did offer to move me when I brought it to their attention - so manageable. I'll certainly be back soon.
Thought the food quality and offering also 1st Class.
Great boutique hotel. Personalized service from greeting by Rosie, to concierge Michael and Pierre, front desk Smirta, Observatory bar staff, and night manager Troy. Great rooms with comfortable bed. First room was on Darling Harbour side where construction was ongoing. Hotel was full and were moved the following day to a room facing the street and observatory which was much quieter. We went to New Zealand and Cairns and are staying at the hotel again before returning home.
