Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay is lauded for its central location, offering guests easy access to Sydney's key attractions. While the Executive Lounge is a highlight, some guests feel the rooms could benefit from modernization and a more consistent amenities service. The staff, particularly the concierge, receives high marks for attentiveness, although elevator issues have led to some delays. Cleanliness is a strong point, with many travelers finding the facilities immaculate. However, opinions are mixed regarding value, with criticisms focused on the high costs relative to the dated rooms and additional expenses.

The hotel has an excellent location about a 2 min walk from Circular Quay, couldn't be better. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had a high floor room with views of the Harbour Bridge, room was big and worked well, plenty of storage. The Exec lounge on 2nd floor was very good too. Would certainly recommend.

We recently stayed at the Sydney Harbor Marriott at Circular Quay. We got upgraded to a high floor with a beautiful view of the Opera House. We loved the convenience of the location to all that we wanted to do while in Sydney. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient. We very much enjoyed the appetizers and happy hour in the executive lounge.

Small room. Nothing special. Very expensive no doubt for the location which was central. The view of the Harbor bridge from our room was only possible if you twisted your neck up against the window. The staff was very nice. The room was clean even though small.

Completely overpriced for what you get. Paid over $450 per night (just for the room, no extras) for a very average and dated experience. The location itself is great being right on circular quay but that was the only highlight. I was really dissapointed with the state of the hotel and the room in particular. The bathroom was filthy (the shower was full of mould) and overall the room was very tired and dated.

Never again….I am a Gold Bonvoy member and I was upgraded to higher floor on arrival, which was good. Rooms are very very tired. Mini bar not stocked. I ordered room service, 4 beers $12 ea and toasted Sandwitch $28ea then I told that there was a $8 service charge…I agreed only to be informed that as I was dining alone hotel policy was only 2 beers could be delivered……I canceled the whole order…….second rate operators… hope I never have to choose this hotel again!

My husband and I were excited to stay in this hotel in the heart of the Harbour/Downtown area of Sydney, Australia. The room was mediocre; no fan in the bathroom, no coffee maker and the room was very dated for the nightly fee. In addition the elevators were apparently being renovated which left people waiting in the morning up to 30 min to go down. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Dear christyjmk, Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your recent visit to Sydney. Although it is not our intention, I recognize the guest lift upgrade work is an inconvenience, particularly during peak movement times. Whilst there is never an ideal time to do these essential upgrades, the hotel will have modernized lifts that will dovetail into a larger project to renovate our guestrooms. Please rest assured that your valuable feedback has been shared with the team in an effort to improve our service and facilities provided to our guests. Once again, we greatly appreciate your constructive review and hope that you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back. Warm regards, Bernhard Langer General Manager

This is great hotel in a perfect position for all the attractions at circular quay and the harbour. High quality hotel with lovely staff which are all very helpful. I only stayed here for one night and didn't get chance to use many of the facilities. My room was great with everything you'd expect from such a quality hotel. Unfortunately I had a real ugly view from my room overlooking one of the many huge skyscraper type building sites that are shooting up in Sydney. At the hotel reception there were many staff to help visitors and I could tell that the hotel had made an effort to make sure the staff spoke many languages so they could help the visitors. I'd love to go back to this hotel for longer so I could enjoy more that the hotel has to offer.

Great location only a few minutes from the circular quay, and the ability to see the Opera House and the Coathanger bridge. Really helpful staff working hard in all departments as far as I could see. The place is let down by the lifts which on occasion can take ages to arrive

Overrated hotel and overcrowded facility. Front desk overpromises and underdelivers. The 15-minute wait for the room turned into a 1-hour wait. A high-floor room was booked, but due to "overcrowding," I ended up in a lower-floor room overlooking the roofs of 2 buildings. Again, Marriott is on the decline and I will have to stay in the JW brand. The hotel is underwhelming, with elevator issues and staff that are not well trained. I only selected this hotel for the view of the opera house, but it is not that great(only partial view due to being a lower floor). I will be coming back to Sydney next month and would not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for the Opera House view, you will be very disappointed.

The location is absolutely perfect, just a 2 minute walk across the street to Circular Quay, a few minutes more to The Rocks neighborhood, and much more. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and have a lot of amenities like an outlet converter for foreign travelers, bathrobe and basically anything you need. The best part of the hotel was how friendly the staff was (although we are finding that to be true for just about everyone we’re meeting in Australia so far). Most notable the concierge Solomon went above and beyond to be helpful and kind. We truly felt like VIPs. Would definitely stay here again. Only constructive criticism is that it would be nice to have a coffee maker like a breville or keurig as the instant coffee made with hot water was not great. Also, the mini fridge froze everything even on the lowest setting so we had to just throw away all our food and soft drinks we had put in there as they were all frozen solid the next morning.
