How to Get There
One of the best Marriotts we have stayed. The concierges in particular were excellent and Daniel Fraser? At the front desk was super efficient, all in all the staff we had contact with were a credit to the hotel. Will be staying at the Melbourne Marriott and the Miri Marriott in the next few weeks where I,m sure we will receive the same fantastic service
A well appointed hotel in an exceptional location to the Quay and Rocks, that hits the 5 Star mark in the majority of respects. The welcome was warm and efficient and we were given an upgrade (same room but higher floor). For the price, the floor space was generous and the appointments as you would hope for during your little indulgent holiday. There were a couple of things that we found a little frustrating, possible because it has become a very Chinese tourist focussed hotel, which means very small cups and glasses rather a decent tea mug, oddly no decent milk, only one bar of soap (a nuisance when you have to move the soppy little bugger between the shower and sink) and my big annoyance - no toilet brush. I don’t know why higher quality hotels find it distasteful to provide this. Guests don’t need, I suppose? to clean the loo for the staff (I would!) but it is nice to clean it for your partner!
An infrastructure problem is the speed of the lifts and on each occasion we were in one it was a topic of discussion with other guests that they were hard to get hold of and unbelievably slow. Best thing to do is leave a few minutes earlier!
Would absolutely use the hotel again at the right price and we especially love the quality of the food at the various dining options, it is very good! Bring your own milk!
Overall it was really good. We had an option of paying an additional $50.00 for an immediate check is as we arrived around 8.30 am. The pizza we had from the hotel was not very satisfactory as it was supposed to be a Margarita and there was hardly any basil on the pizza.
Great location close to trains, ferries and within walking distance to circular key, opera house, botanical gardens and shopping centre.Rooms bit outdated with carpet and bathroom could do with renovations but very clean,
The harbour bridge view rooms are amazing from a view perspective. But these rooms are average in look, feel and size. The service is bad- the cleaning folks won't put water in, if you call service- they keep you on hold for long, to extend the stay reception forwards call to reservation and then reservation back to reception. Feel like opportunity exists in service improvement.Great location. Walking distance from most points of interest
