How to Get There
We had a two night stay in this hotel and found it very comfortable, including the bed. I particularly enjoyed the spacious bathroom. The whole room was clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly and customer focussed. We would definitely stay here again.
A couple of years later, we were back after our initial visit, as we had some personal business to attend to over in North Sydney. Spoke to Christoffer the night before to book the room, and was given a rather good deal $239 for the room (which he told us was a queen / king single room) with breakfast included .. Check-in was pleasant, when we got to the room, it wasn't as described, it was actually two queen beds ... even better :)
Settling in for the night, it was rather quiet where we were (as opposed to the noisy tour group that we encountered last time), which was good. In the morning, headed down for breakfast, had my usual fare - just a small side note that the coffee from the self serve machine wasn't all that hot .. so another cappucino from the friendly waitress was ordered as well. And a small metal jug for milk for cereal? I can understand it .. but it felt like it had been on the table for a while and had warmed up slightly ..
So all in all Hills Lodge, I was rightly impressed by the service that we received - also I'd like to offer a compliment to Christoffer for his polite, professional service, was able to provide such a good offer for the room.
Here's a bit of a tip for you: check in early, as to when we arrived which was just after 5pm, the carpark was quite full .. debating whether or no that the hotel itself was close to full .. or whether it was people there for dinner.
This is a great hotel. It looks charming, the rooms are fresh and clean, parking is easy, the staff are amazing! Such a warm welcome always. The beds are so comfortable it's hard to leave them, the rooms are big and the showers are not the kind where you feel like it's hard to get wet. Special mention to Darlene at reception and Melanie in the restaurant... Both ladies go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for your stay.
Don't hesitate to book.
if your driving its easy to get to, if not driving im not sure how easy it would be to get there. Great service from both reception and staff in the restaurant. Very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful and exactly like in the photos. No noise at all. When our son left at about 9pm he was amazed to find the car park completely full and we didnt hear a sound in our room from all the people that were clearly in the restaurant. Definitely would stay there next time we are in that area..
I had to help organise examinations at the nearby Blacktown Hospital.
The hotel is 50 minutes from the airport in light traffic , but I had no choice as the next few days were at Blacktown Hospital .
The hotel is quite different on initial impression and resembles more of a retreat as it has at least two different buildings and is set amongst many trees resembling more of a country manor .
Reception was pleasant , courteous and efficient , but I arrived at 9 pm so nobody else around .
My room was located on the other building and I had to walk back outside through an archway. The room was spacious , clean and modern .
Breakfast was good and the hotel does provide a shuttle .
One night I stayed I had room service with gourmet sausages which were surprisingly good . The next night my colleagues and I ate at the restaurant and my schnitzel was excellent .
It was surprisingly crowded during the day and I attribute this to it being the only decent establishment around . Unfortunately , did not try the spa.
So , if you have to stay around this area, I would recommend it .
