How to Get There
This hotel was a company booking and was selected due to a high 4.6 star rating. The rate for this room is just under $250
p/n. Arrived on a Monday afternoon at approx 4pm after a very early starting at 5am driving for 2 hours and then presenting at seminar. The pictures on the internet were exactly what I saw, the premise is perfect, there is a brilliant pool and a large gym (user pays $8per visit - reasonable). The staff at reception were very welcoming and lovely. My room itself was very comfortable and well appointed and the bed and pillows are perfect! I actually liked the location noting it was approx 5 steps down from main reception desk - was concerned about the potential noise but its very quite. BUT... the only issue with this hotel was the room I was allocated, and the air conditioning system - it is so noisy as every 15 - 20 mins the condenser kicks in and it sounds like a dryer has been turned on IN THE ROOM! To a point I thought the laundry was next door to my room! So after calling desk at 1030pm receptionist (not the same one I spoke to) finally arrived at 1130pm and moved me at midnight where I finally went to sleep at 1am! Woke at 630am and was out the door for another day presenting at seminar at 7am - night reception was still on and said it would be fixed, cannot be moved as hotel is fully booked on Tuesday. Tuesday night was not bad (I did buy ear plugs at the chemist incase) but by the time Wednesday AM rolled in it was getting noisy again. This is my last night here, have ear plugs to assist to block out noise and noise cancelling head set. I usually sleep in a quiet environment but this noise that activates every 15-20mins throughout the night is terrible. Have recorded the noise activation and would posted the video of the noise but no capability to post videos to this forum. If you need semi quiet environment to sleep do not book here in case you get this room and hotel is full so no option but to put up with the noise and its my last night EVER here. Terrible experience for being in such a beautiful environment. All you ammenities are lovely and having the spa attached is handy.
We had an extended stay at The Hills Lodge in Castle Hill recently and I must say it was excellent.
The staff were asked to do a couple of things out of their comfort zone to make the room accessible for my needs.
Without batting an eyelid the jumped to it and it was fantastic. Mattress on the floor, shower door removed, furniture packed into a corner to give us more room.
Nothing was an issue and for this I want to thank them so much.
We only had a couple of meals for room service and they were extremely tasty.
Would have prefer a separate interconnecting bedroom for our family of 2 adults & 2 older children just for more space & an extra TV. Pool was great as we stayed over Christmas at it was hot.....Restaurant is lovely.
Check in was painless - staff had me through that process with a minimal of fuss and a warm welcome.
The room was spacious with a comfortable king sized bed and good sized bathroom. I can attest to excellent water pressure in the shower :)
Breakfast in the restaurant in the morning was fine. Selection was limited but quality was good - enjoyed some fresh fruit and then cooked breakfast.
Check-out was efficient and friendly - they had me on my way quickly.
If you are looking to stay in the hills district then this is an excellent choice. It matches its four star rating well
Attended the Hills Lodge for a birthday function. Around 50 guests. The room was very well presented. The table arrangement guaranteed ease of movement for guests and staff. Three course lunch was excellent as was the service. Staff were bright, efficient and attentive. Well done to all. Would recommend to anyone for this type of function.
