Foster + Partners created a contemporary architectural landmark with this sleek, double-towered building in Sydney’s tony Darling Harbour area. The hotel is located in the smaller 33-story tower overlooking St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Public areas include the lobby’s rainfall chandelier suspended from a silver leaf ceiling, and a cantilevered 164-foot pool over the triple-height entrance. The 201 guest rooms, ranging from studio suites to two-bedroom duplexes, have restrained, modern furnishings in browns and creams with pops of sunshine yellow. Most have minimal modern white kitchens with fridges, microwaves and laundry facilities. For those who don’t want to cook (you are on vacation), breakfast is served in a mezzanine lounge.
In the Area
Central Sydney is well placed for exploring Darling Harbour, a car-free zone lined with restaurants, bars, and stores. Other attractions include the city’s Sealife Aquarium, which recreates the Great Barrier Reef, as well as the Chinese Garden of Friendship – a good stop to escape the crowds — designed by Sydney’s sister city of Guangzhou. The area also neighbors Chinatown, another good spot for restaurants and gift shopping.
How to Get There
Great location which is easy to get by as it is only 5 minutes from the Town Hall train station. The location is close to Asian restaurants, nice little japanese Ramen place just down the hotel. It is very close to the World Square as well. The room on the 35th floor had the view of the city which was stunning during the night where you can see the QVB and the Sydney Tower. You could even see the Darling harbour from the room. The bed was comfortable and the shower presseure was nice and strong. Just a little tricky turning on the shower knob as you need to really use your strengh a bit. Blocked basin in the bathroom was promptly fixed so nil issues with it. Speedy check in and out. Overall it was a pleasnt stay. Good customer service.$100 per night deposit and the credit card surcharge fee is a bit of a disappointment. Definitely will come back to Fraser suites.
Always a great place to stay in the Sydney CBD.. staff are friendly and helpful.. and the suites are very comfortable... I would stay here if I was spending a week in Sydney in holiday... the suite had separate bedroom bathroom and living room with cooking facilities including pots pans and utensils...
I booked this Hotel last minute due to poor service and confusion at Rydges World Square and so glad I did.
The staff were energetic, cheerful and polite and very welcoming.
The room was great and the gym and pool facilities are the best I've used at any hotel.
Excellent location plenty of great options for a drink and food close by.
good clean Apartment hotel, convenient to transport, tourist spots, cafes. The street around is grubby!
We were not happy they wanted a Bond!! which went onto our credit card, even though it was credited back with not cost to us, the fact that they had not mentioned that in the confirmation email was not good..
I booked this this property for our Director for a last minute overnight business trip. I dealt with James Briedenhann in reservations who was very helpful (this period for accommodation in Sydney was painfully expensive and I was been cheeky on finding a cheaper price elsewhere and getting it price matched) This was no issue though and James handled everything smoothly and politely. Our Director was very happy with the studio and I was very happy with the price! I would recommend this over a standard hotel offering. Thank you James and the team at Fraser Suites.
