Foster + Partners created a contemporary architectural landmark with this sleek, double-towered building in Sydney’s tony Darling Harbour area. The hotel is located in the smaller 33-story tower overlooking St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Public areas include the lobby’s rainfall chandelier suspended from a silver leaf ceiling, and a cantilevered 164-foot pool over the triple-height entrance. The 201 guest rooms, ranging from studio suites to two-bedroom duplexes, have restrained, modern furnishings in browns and creams with pops of sunshine yellow. Most have minimal modern white kitchens with fridges, microwaves and laundry facilities. For those who don’t want to cook (you are on vacation), breakfast is served in a mezzanine lounge.
In the Area
Central Sydney is well placed for exploring Darling Harbour, a car-free zone lined with restaurants, bars, and stores. Other attractions include the city’s Sealife Aquarium, which recreates the Great Barrier Reef, as well as the Chinese Garden of Friendship – a good stop to escape the crowds — designed by Sydney’s sister city of Guangzhou. The area also neighbors Chinatown, another good spot for restaurants and gift shopping.
How to Get There
We came as 'ruralty' but you made us feel like 'royalty'. We asked for a view and you gave us the entire city with all her amazing icons. The staff were friendly and efficient and the lifts were super quick. Will definitely be back.
Positives: Neat and tidy. Comfortable bed. Clean rooms and good locations but for a 5 star hotel it is lacking good service. Room wasn't available when promised and even though they told us they would change the bed configuration for us immediately it never happened. We returned to the room at midnight only to find we still had a queen bed (we requested 2 singles) Room service did not arrive and we had to call again and when my luggage was delivered to my room with stains all over it, the porter rudely suggested I was lying about the suitcase being clean when I arrived. The breakfast buffet is ok but poor table service. Dirty plates and cups where not removed and the restocking of the buffet took some time
We booked a studio apartment on a higher level. And the level we got? THE TOP! The view was sensational! Both at night & in the morning. The staff were helpful. The bed was super comfy! Would definitely stay again!
great location ,friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable apartments with all the needs available.Clean and neat ,as well as a well stocked mini-bar.Excellent choice, and it is nice that breakfast is served on a different floor if one so desires to have it ,as well as an option of room-service for meals.
Fraser Suites Sydney had exceptional service! All our needs were accommodated to and staff went above and beyond to offer the best service possible! Thank you to Samantha, who was very helpful through and before our stay assisting us immensely on getting the best price for our stay! The 2 bedroom Suite that we stayed in was a very clean and large room, it had sweeping views of the city and water glimpses! Although some of the furniture was tacky and the couch was extremely uncomfortable, the room was also slightly overpriced. The bathrooms were stylish, contemporary and very clean after being serviced daily! The Gym and pool were also very handy and modern! Would definitely recommend to friends!
