How to Get There
The Amora Jamison is in a great location, not only in terms of the city but it is practically on top of Wynard station. the room was well appointed and the bathroom was spacious. A highlight for us was, surprisingly, the swimming pool, where we spent part of most afternoons.
Lovely well appointed rooms with really nice bathrooms and really comfortable beds! This hotel is located in a great location just off George Street and has a wonderful team who look after you. What more could you want?!!
I normally enjoy the Amora and have promoted it strongly in the past. However my recent visit - this week I experienced the worst dining experience I have ever had. McDonalds would have been a better option. After sending 2 meals back that were inedible - I opted for heading out the front door and ordered Domino's pizza. Definitely not 5 star any more!! Rooms are tired and need refurb. I wanted to work from my room. The little round table to work on was ridiculous and when sitting on the chair at the table - the table top was under my chin. Ridiculous. Having said that the staff are fantastic, friendly welcoming - but alas - I wont be back!!
We got an excellent rate for a recent weekend visit, particularly for such a central location.
Our room was on the 13th floor and was extremely clean. Despite been in the middle of the city we heard no exterior noise and slept extremely well. The blackout curtains and comfy bed also helped with this.
We had a few drinks in the bar and we were served by Dhariji who is such an asset to the hotel. He was lovely to chat to and very efficient with the drinks service.
We’d have no hesitation staying again.
Very nice, clean hotel, with beautiful rooms. Two recommendations:
1. Fitness Center - is just one of the worst fitness centers I have ever seen, and is almost hazardous to the well-being of the guests. Just doesn't make any sense why such a nice hotel has such old, run-down, almost dangerous equipment.
2. Breakfast Buffet - at $40 AUD for the breakfast buffet, suggest any guest to just walk 5 minutes to the Four Seasons Hotel, where the much richer, better quality breakfast buffet is only $45 AUD. Again, makes no sense why the Amora hotel's breakfast buffet is THAT expensive. If it were anywhere near the buffet offered at the Four Seasons, would be worth paying $40 AUD. But for what is being offered, definitely do not recommend the current Breakfast Buffet at the hotel. The hotel should either reduce the price, or offer better quality. Highly recommend management to swing-by the Four Seasons Hotel to see what a $40-ish AUD breakfast buffet should look like!
Aside from that, very pleasant stay and great location.
