How to Get There
This is a lovely place, tranquil, upscale yet relaxed, a sanctuary. We had two different suites, and each had their separate highlights. The ground floor offered privacy and the easy of wandering out onto the dunes and beach easily, even on dreamy sleepless nights. The upper floor offered rooftop views that were magnificent. I cannot choose which was better -- I enjoyed them both.
Luxurious stay with the most breathtaking beach on earth and the warmth of the Anguillan people.
If there is an island on earth that I think is the most beautiful, its Anguilla. It is hard to get to but its well worth the travel and time you take to visit this stunning island full of beautiful people and the most decadent food.
The small island takes care of you. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you will be in a daze that you have been transported into a carefully photoshopped postcard you once thought wasn't real.
The beach is as good as they come. The natural cove of the location gives is privacy, each suite has a designated beach chair easily accessible from a quick minute walk from your suite. And rest assured you won't find seaweed on this beach, Cap Juluca has the beach cleaned every morning, so you can enjoy the prestine beaches.
We absolutely love the island but because of the beach, Cap Juluca is just that much more special. We have been visiting the island for some time now and have visited Cap Juluca for dinner and stay previously.
During our last visit, the ownership had been turned over from the lovely old private couple to Belmond group, who ensured the lovely staffers they were all welcome to stay under the new management. Yes, over the years the once notoriously exclusive and luxurious accommodations have aged but never to the point of disappointment but that we all knew the place just needed a good partner who will see the beauty in the place and give it a soft update to maintain the glory of the former self.
I have been watching the updates since we left last year in June (clearly a late review). They narrowly missed Hurricane Maria as the property had been shut for renovation already (I'm sure they still sustained some damage) and since late last year, they've gone through a series of update to improve Cap Juluca and I have been watching the update on Instagram.
And we like what we see, so much so, that for my birthday at the beginning of next year (first week of Jan) we will be returning. Cap Juluca was already an expensive stay but it looks like they've gone up a bit more. We also noticed the boat chartering fee has also gone up more than 2 folds and we wish that it wasn't since it's already such a journey to get to Anguilla.
But we are excited for the stay. I won't comment on the food or the amentities once offered as I'm sure that may well all change, even though I secretly hope that not much hasn't.
If you're a couple or a family looking for a exclusive, peaceful peace of paradise for a honeymoon, vacation or to celebrate a special milestone - this is the place for you.
Stay at least 3 nights to get the complete vibe. Each room is a complete villa spread along a great beach. Very private and romantic. The service was excellent and there are many nearby hotels and restaurants to keep things interested. There is a ferry to other islands nearby that is very convenient as well.
We Honeymooned here in November of 2009 and all though these many years later I still love the place so much that I have to write a review. We hope to come back for our 10 year anniversary. The property is stunning and simply amazing. This was indeed the best beach on the island. We stayed in a Junior suite about midway on the beach. The water on the almost mile long beach is so crystal blue and warm. Best water ever. Also Every morning we opened our patio doors and took in the gorgeous view of the ocean and Sint Maarten in the distance while we had our breakfast on the patio. On really clear days you can see St. Barts. The hotel service is fantastic and we really enjoyed being able to take a golf cart to drive back and forth to our room especially when we arrived late at night from dining. The staff are all highly professional and outstanding to deal with and so helpful. I've never had service so amazing. It was easily the best property Ive ever had the pleasure of vacation on and we've been to several Islands. I loved the fact that we had out own little spot on the beach with an umbrella and cooler filled with Fiji Water and Ice.Be sure to partake in some Pyrat Rum as well. We went through about 4 bottles during our stay. We especially loved having afternoon frozen grapes. We enjoyed having our drinks and lunch on the beach. Lower the flag on your umbrella and someone will be there in no time to take your order. Just lovely wonderful people who know what customer service is. We stayed for 11 days and I wish we could have stayed longer. Angiulla is such a laid back Islan with so many wonderful places to eat. Cap Juluca also has a wonderful restaurant. My only regret is we did not get a chance to have a romantic private dining experience on the beach due to a scheduling snafu. We hope to be able to do that when we return.
You simply must stay at Cap Juluca if you are considering a vacation in the Caribbean. It is beautiful, relaxing and romantic. It is quaint, quiet, and absolutely breathtaking. To get to the hotel, you will fly into St. Marteen and take a ferry to Anguilla. We were greeted with cocktails at the hotel and shortly after, we attended tea time in the main lobby. Our hotel room was a stunning beach view room. The outdoor porch overlooked the beach and crystal clear water. The beach chairs were very comfortable. Most days we ate breakfast and lunch at the restaurant on the beach. I loved how everything was close together at this resort. It made for a very relaxing vacation!
