Old-world charm

Piano bar/restaurant was nice. Dinner was outstanding. Breakfast in sunroom was ok, but also a little discombobulated -- had to ask for silverware, more coffee mugs at coffee station. Omelet station option was great -- but started to get cold waiting for silverware. Buffet offerings were very basic. Again, the building is absolutely beautiful.

excellent experience

I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn of Vanessie last week for 3 wonderful nights. General Manager Anastasia and her assistant Dimitra were so kind and helpful and treated me like a king from upgrading me to a suite to advice on shopping and dining. When I checked in Dimitra not only upgraded to a suite but showed me to my suite. The suite itself was pure delight and of the highest quality. King size bed with comforter, sitting area, dining area and beautiful recently remodeled bathroom. All Luxurious. The Inn is easy walking distance to plaza, shopping, Canyon Road, Georgia O'Keefe museum. Kudos to Dimitra for suggesting Inn's Piano Bar with the amazing Doug Montgomery, delightful evening listening to his superlative singing and playing and interacting with his audience. Thanks again to Anastasia and Dimitra, you have a class act establishment and look forward to seeing you in the Spring, John

Nice room, great piano bar but go elsewhere for breakfast

We sat at the bar for dinner and Julian was just fantastic. The food quality was quite good. Call drinks a bit pricey but the piano entertainment is fantastic. Room and bar restaurant was very good but breakfast the next morning is basically an afterthought. The attendant was too busy on her phone to acknowledge our presence. It was okay because the pitiful 2 chafing dishes were not worth free,,,much less the $5.00 up charge for an omelet. Hotel is well located with plenty of parking.

Unique, quaint stay and we loved it!

My husband and I stayed one evening in early October and were delighted at the unique accommodations and friendly service. The Internet was having issues the evening we arrived so we were given a $20 meal voucher to use in the adjacent restaurant. We loved the live entertainment (piano/singer) and had a lovely dinner and stayed until the restaurant closed for the evening. The room was clean, comfortable and uniquely appointed which was very enjoyable for us. We had a complementary continental breakfast in the attached restaurant the next morning and upgraded for a nominal charge to a full breakfast. The Belgium waffle with fruit was so delicious I talked about it for days :). We found the staff we interacted with very friendly and manager Dimitra very accommodating. If we come back to Santa Fe in the future we will be sure to look to stay at the Inn at Vanessie again.

Great Location and Interesting Decor; Bad Management

The Inn at Vanessie is located in the heart of the art and museum district in Santa Fe. The Inn itself is a boutique Inn, with a local feel of the culture and surroundings. We arrived at 6:30pm just as the clerk was beginning to put our keys in an envelope. As we checked in he provided us with no information/confusing information about the availability of breakfast and food/drink voucher. Each day we continued to try to become clear and only on our 4th day did we get a clear answer from a different clerk. This was time consuming and aggravating. Also, we had to move out of our room as the heating system stopped working, Then in the 2nd room the door lock stopped working and we were locked out of our room. Needless to say, the Inn needs to get better management. No one wants to have extra grief while traveling. But the cleaning staff were efficient and good.
