How to Get There
From the reservation staff who handled our gift certificate to make our reservations to the butlers at The Hacienda, our stay was relaxing and exceeded our expectations. Every employee we encountered was professional, friendly, and helpful.
So delightful and luxurious. Life with a floor butler is a life to be lived! The happy hour is so nice, and the views are phenomenal. The location, too, can't be beat! Easy walking distance to downtown and historic Santa Fe. The beds are comfortable and the decor is gorgeous. Plus there's continental breakfast in the mornings!
It's amazing too that the hotel is Native-owned-- the only one in downtown Santa Fe, which is incredibly important in an area like this, where the tourism industry has not always respected Native communities.
Very nice hotel in the middle of the city. Downtown is in walking distance. We had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Santa Fe. Very friendly staff. The food at the Amaya restaurant is delicious. The spa offers a variety of treatments, enhancing the experience.
I waited a month to post this. The hotel itself is okay, perhaps a bit overpriced for the size of room (very small for two women and a dog). The staff was hit or miss for helpfulness. We stayed 2 nights and the first night we had wine and a cheese plate in the bar. The staff clearly was working hard that night but took good care of us. Confusingly our dog could be in the bar area but not the restaurant, although both were within feet of each other. This property cries out for a dog friendly patio of some kind. Not super dog friendly...
The maids never checked in to see if we needed more towels, and we used them all up by the time we left. Shower has no full door so water went all over the floor. We used extra towels to mop up water.
Spa was cold at 830 in the morning and wouldn’t warm up. After half an hour I reported it to the front desk and all I got in response: “I’ll report it to the building staff”. Not any word about an apology or when it might be repaired.
Hotel is in a good location and we walked to the plaza. One night we took the shuttle and our dog was allowed on it so that was nice.
Mostly my dissatisfaction comes from the fact that I left a shirt in our room, reported it missing, filled out the online form and never heard a word back from the staff. It wasn’t an expensive shirt but it was mine, and I can only assume a maid decided to keep it.
Wish someone would have at least followed up. For the room price I would expect at least that.
Everything about the Hotel Santa Fe is what I expect in an upscale hotel. Clean, secure and plush. It's very close to the shops and restaurants around the plaza. We love the pool and hot tub to relax in after a long day shopping and museum tours. If you stay, plan on a meal or two at the hotel's very own restaurant, Amaya. We've never been disappointed and we've stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe 4 times so far.
