How to Get There
I’ll start off by saying that this hotel is beautiful, very clean and modernized. But, I was not impressed with the way things were handled that evening.
So, we stayed on Saturday, May 18th at this Hotel. We was told that there was going to be a wedding that evening, by the sweet young lady at the counter, which was not a big deal....at least at that time. Anyhow, to make a long story short, it had been a great day exploring the hotel and it’s grounds and having some drinks on their awesome roof top patio. We decided to leave for supper and wanted to do some shopping before the long travel home early that next morning. Plans were to get up at 5 am to hit the road, but that didn’t happen. After having a very early supper and completing our shopping, we decided to head back to our room and call it a night. When we returned, there was absolutely no parking anywhere. Not on the hotel property, nor the streets next to the hotel. The nearest parking spot was a couple of blocks down the street in a residential area. So we called the hotel to see what they suggested and we was told that their staff made a mistake by not blocking off the back parking lot for their guests that was staying at the hotel and further explained that if we parked anywhere else not on their property, we could get a ticket and said they don’t know what else they could do or suggest other than keep waiting for one of the wedding party guests to leave. We had already been circling the hotel for almost an hour at this point and just wanted to go to bed. I asked to speak to the manager but was given her voicemail in which, I left a detailed message and still have not heard back from them about this. I believe this could have been handled in a more professional manner than what it was and I also believe that some sort of discount should’ve been given, at the very least. Instead, we spent our evening circling the hotel waiting for a parking spot to open and the wedding party to start leaving. With this being said, I wouldn’t recommend this place....
My sister and I had the pleasure of staying here May 17-20 and it was awesome from the pickup at the airport with a complimentary shuttle, the smooth check in, the vibe of the hotel, staff/customer service to check out, I was sorry to leave!!!!
It was an oasis with beautifully tended garden areas, places to lounge and relax, fountain, rooftop lounge, hot tub and a amazing historical/landamark building that was renovated to perfection with decor that matched the era but was also modern. Other perks, robes in the bathroom, walk in shower, breakfast every morning, it was also nice and quiet considering it's close to the freeway. 20 minute walk to Downtown or shuttle within 3 miles I think to other areas
Booked the King Suite spacious room for 2 overlooking the garden, refreshing choice in the era of big box hotels!!
HORRIBLE service!! My son lost his sweater in the breakfast room.. and we called them and they say that they would do something but they never did.
They would not contact us if they did something and the rooms are FILTHY AND CRAMPED!!! BEWARE OF WHAT YOU LEAVE HERE IT WILL BE STOLEN
Room was clean, but extremely small. Window looked into another room, no place for 2 people to sit or to put 2nd suit case. No coffee in room and not informed where it was.
We made reservations based on having a pet... Booking.com stated that pets were allowed and charges MAY apply...when we checked in we were informed that it would be $75 And we would have to talk to manager to adjust fee. We attempted to talk to Manager (Yancey Sturgeon) 5 times to no avail...He simply would not respond...
We travel a lot, but seldom write a review about one of the hotels we stay in. This one deserves a review.
In the days of standardized chain hotels it is a rare find to come to a place with a reception area that deserves its name. This hotel lets you think back of the good old times of Grand Hotels, when the receptionist knew you by name and your every need. The rooms are large and appointed in a modern style. Beds are highest qualtity and just wonderful to sleep in. A large bathroom with walk-in shower awaits you. Of course, everything is impeccably clean and made from high quality materials. And in the morning a fantastic breakfast awaits you.
We have stayed here many times and always love to come back. Beyond all the good things I said, we really feel like returning home when we go there. We feel like the staff really DOES care about their guests and wants to get every detail of your stay right. From coffee on the floor stations to that extra smile when you walk by the front desk.
In our opinion, this is one of the last really grand hotels around. Whenever we travel to the Albuquerque area this is where we go.
