Hotel in Decline

I have stayed here many times in the last several years, and regret to say this hotel is apparently in transition and is going downhill. The hotel used to have a bar and restaurant, but now has neither. I do not know why they still come up as 4 stars on many websites. I would currently rate this hotel as 2.5 stars. There are restaurants up and down Rt. 10 if you're willing to venture out on a busy 4-lane highway and navigate the requisite NJ jug handle U-turns, but for business travelers who often do not wish to go back out after a long day, the lack of an onsite bar or restaurant is a real deterrent. The hotel currently offers breakfast in a conference room, but, let's face it, that is just odd. The rooms are ok, although on my most recent stay, my $180/night room had a distinctly musty odor. The parking lot, which in past years was always very busy, was practically deserted. I'm online now booking a multi-night corporate stay, and am opting to go 6 miles away to a hotel with much better recent reviews. (The TA recent reviews for the Westminster are abysmal.). This means I'll have a 25 minute drive to work each morning (as opposed to 10 minutes from the Westminster), so I will definitely miss the convenience. Hope to see this hotel return to its former level of excellence.

Um. No.

So no restaurant in the hotel they offered they could drive us to somewhere if we wanted then when we asked they asked the driver and he said he was busy as he just stood there and he said yes so we walked on the highway to a restaurant near-by. Then there was no hot water and no wifi. Kind of miss across the board. The hotel was actually in good shape and clean but the other things are just a miss.

The Westminster hotel did a pretty good job with this event. Over 175 people attended. Over 35 restaurants showed, with 46 raffle prizes, a 50/50 raffle and special door prizes. The foods presented were delicious. From Eppes Essen deli pastrami sandwiches to fresh clams and oysters from Godfathers. The array of food was amazing. Wine tasting and desserts too. Best part is all proceeds go to the NIC UNIT of St. Barnabas Hospital, for the past (16) years. Kudos Livingston Rotary.
