How to Get There
My wife and I got married at the Westminster Hotel this year, and I just want to commend the Westminster Hotel on a job very well done! My wife and I were extremely impressed by everything! The staff worked efficiently and did a great job making sure things were set up exactly the way we wanted! This is especially impressive considering that our wedding was an approximately 475 person wedding in the morning and a 375 person evening reception! This is not a small amount of people and there are a lot of moving pieces with an Indian wedding, so the Westminster Hotel's ability to manage the complicated logistics seamlessly and smoothly exceeded our high expectations! We appreciated their flexibility and willingness to work with us in the preparations leading up to the wedding. Our guests walked away raving about how beautiful everything looked and how great the rooms were, and we owe their reaction to amazing work of the Westminster Hotel! I also want to highlight Scott Pinck, the Senior Catering Sales Manager, who was such a wonderful partner in this entire wedding planning experience! This is a stressful endeavor and he helped to make it as easy as possible by being as detailed-oriented, helpful, and as full of good ideas as possible.
The rooms are confortable and clean. The people at the recetpion are nice and helpfull. The shutle service is a big avantage as well as the nice pool. the restaurant bar is great. Try the tuna or the linguine!
The Westminster Hotel was where I had my hotel wedding block (my wedding was in south Orange,NJ).
FOR THE BRIDE & GROOM:
The Westminster was extemely accommodating to me (mostly my groom as he stayed there 2 nights). Juliana, the manager, was extremely responsive to me (a very OCD bride).
My husband and I got received a free suite room for our wedding as we had over the amount needed of rooms reserved — this was awesome! 5 stars for that and they also asked us when to come in and clean the room (since my husband had stayed there the night prior)
and there was wine and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us when we got in!!
FOR OUR GUESTS:
They provided shuttle service for my guests to and from the reception — the shuttle was always on time(bonus!).
Just an FYI, the hotel can be pricey depending on your budget ($250/room ish). The restaurant is great (my husband had dinner there) but again might be on the high end for some guests depending on their budget but it’s delicious.
the location is very convinient to Newark Airport, shopping (short hills mall) etc. as it’s right on Rt 10. There is also AMPLE parking!
I definitely recommend the Westminster for a wedding room block hotel!
The hotel is clean and the rooms have everything you need, I also liked how they have a doorman in the lobby nice touch - opens door when arms full with luggage.
What I didn't like though is I did not see anywhere to get a snack - only the main restaurant - No vending Machine's no "to go" area - so if restaurant closed no snacks
Also walls must be thin since we clearly heard neighbors conversation.
Oh bar prices are crazy. But clean and comfortable so that is what counts.
Always mediocre, I noticed last time that the walls are thin enough to hear neighbor's voices. When I realized who owned and managed this hotel (Kushner/Trump), I've decided not to stay again. My money is better spent elsewhere.
