How to Get There
My husband and I just came back from Lambertville/New Hope. Our stay at the Lambertville House Hotel was great. I picked it because of its historical background, its quaintness and the fact it was a hotel not bed and breakfast but sill had charm.
The place is spotless. Our room was perfect. We had a Queen. The walls were newly painted. The bed and furniture were quaint. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable.
One reviewer mentioned the height of the tub. Well its high because its a spa tub. It was difficult getting in and out of. I guess it is something to ask about before booking.
Now before I start with the specific pros and cons -one thing has to be understood first.
You are booking this type of hotel for its historical charm, uniqueness, and quaintness.
You are not booking this hotel with the same mindset of a 5 star resort.
(I would give it 4 on a hotel score.)
24 hour desk
TV although not your huge flat screen - we didn't even use it.
Restaurant - lunch/dinner - we had some drinks and appetizers outside - which was very nice!
LOCATION - on the main street of EVERYTHING Restaurants, shops, art galleries! Couple of minutes by walking from walking bridge to New Hope. Can walk to Playhouse in New Hope in 10 minutes.
Onsite valet parking - free
Can enjoy Lambertville and New Hope easily.
Wine and snacks in room. (of course if you use them you are charged)
Some rooms have balconies and fireplaces.
Con's They were NOT an issue for us but it might be for someone
Overflow parking - When we left for a couple of hours in the daytime we had to use the overflow parking lot when we returned. This was about 5 minutes away (by walking )in a large lot. It was not an issue for us. Actually it was easier- we then were able to hold onto our keys.
As another post mentioned - there is no refrigerator. It might have been nice but really for a few nights made no difference.
No coffeemaker in the room. There is a Keurig Maker in the hall with a nice tray of glasses creamers etc. Again it was fine.
The desk chair was a bit uncomfortable.
Breakfast not available but literally across the street are tons of great breakfast options!
The bathroom is small but it is an old hotel!
We had a queen room - it is a bit small but cute and fine. There was an old fashioned chair to sit on and a desk with a chair. There is an TV armoire with plenty of room for clothes.
We loved the historical charm/quaintness. It had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!
We have been coming to the Lambertville House for several years now, and it has always been very pleasant. But my husband and I left this morning knowing we will not return again. We paid $773 for two nights and it was not worth it in any way. The room was so tired - the wallpaper was peeling off, the carpet felt and looked old, and the metal chairs on the balcony were extremely uncomfortable and hard. Maybe some cushions? The bathtub was two feet high to get in to take a shower (I saw other pictures here where the shower was separate). I hurt my back getting in and out. This is very dangerous! Also, there was no information about the room - TV Guide, hotel info, etc. We had an old IPod docking station.,,,what are we going to do with that? And sadly, the breakfast that we always enjoyed is gone. But you can buy water for $5.00. The room didn't even have a fridge. Overall, no details were added to make it a pleasurable stay.
And when we left today, the valet told us he had to park our car off the premises because another guest went crazy cause she didn't get a parking spot. So he moves our car to give her the spot. What if we needed it in an emergency? Shoudn't they have told us? Overall, Lambertville House failed this time..With many other lodging options, we will not be returning to this faded hotel. For almost $800, customers deserve better amenities.
Beautiful, cozy hotel with a cozy bar and porch. Very well appointed rooms with fireplace and large soaking tub. Friendly staff and good location. Parking is available also. I would recommend this hotel.
