How to Get There
My overall experience with this hotel was quite positive. My impression of Reno the city, not so much. This hotel along with Civcud Circus and the Eldorado are adjoined by sky walks and they are known as the Row Hotels.. The three hotels in one allows travellers increased options without going outside at all. That is important in Reno as the city is chock-a-block with street people and homeless, abandoned motels and boarded up storefronts. If you come here to gamble and see a show maybe that's not important to you. Inside the hotel great check-in and out., good security, above-average housekeeping and helpful and friendly staff. In twenty-plus trips to Vegas I never had better comp drink service from the "cocktail waitresses" (are they still called that?)
We usually stay here because we get free rooms. Our last trip we had to move rooms because of elevator noise, but our second room was an amazing corner room with great views - Room 1424, I think. Slots and tables are whatever..I'm not much of gambler but I'll sit my my guy while he plays and sip free drinks :) A little disappointing that is seems as though during the later hours, homeless people are roaming around with their belongings. Bloody Marys at SL are the BEST, hands down!
Booked this hotel because I remembered when it was new I wanted to stay there. Should have stayed there 20 years ago. Not bad but in need of some updates. Not a single usb plug in our room to name one small detail.
Our flight home was canceled the night before we were to checkout so I figured it would not be hard to extend our stay for Sunday night too. I was wrong. Because I made our arrangements through a third party booking, I needed to contact them to extend it. Really? You won’t just take my credit card and charge me for an extra night? Gee, I guess you want me to do your job so you can take my money.
I found it much easier to just call another hotel and book with them.
And what’s with there being no breakfast buffet?
Stay here if you want to be in the heart of town, but if you want service go elsewhere.
I’d love to give the Silver Legacy four stars. After 7 years coming to Reno every year finally our group decided to spring for the price and stay here. My room was big, spa room (extra cost) - and a view of the wall (6th floor). But worse still there were disgusting things left on our floor when we got in our room - a used dental pick and some unidentifiable food substance. I tried to contact the manager but got no response. The hotel seems empty, so not sure why we got crappy treatment. Maybe they don’t care anymore.
I ask for a non smoking room, but I could still smoke cigarette smoke. not enough places to eat just breakfast, lunch & dinner. I wanted just a coffee shop with good food that was open 24/7. I use to love Silver Legacy, El Dorado, & Circus Circus because you could go from place to place without going outside. Now it sucks for eating places. Circus Circus remodel looked very nice., but there food court had awful food. the Habit place burgers
were awful. I will never eat there again. The all night place in El "Dorado was closed the whole two days I was there. Silver Legacy You don't have a coffee shop that is 24/7 open. You Need One.
