How to Get There
My trip to Reno, NV. was an amazing 4 nights at Silver Legacy. We were accommodated and staff made sure all needs were met. My daughter came in after I checked in they in turn made sure she was on the list. They didn't have to wake me up at 1AM thankfully!! I had never stayed at this hotel but after my stay I highly recommend it.
We had a one night stay to see a show playing at the hotel. We don't gamble so don't ask me about the quality of the casino itself.
This is a good quality casino hotel. I appreciated that I did not have to walk through the casino to check in or out and that there was good, free, covered parking. I also appreciated that they at least tried to maintain security to the hotel floors by demanding to see a room key before accessing the elevators. Of course, it would be easy to just have kept one of our two keys when we checked out and I could be accessing the hotel floors right now...
The room was good sized and had a nice view of Reno and the mountains beyond. I think anywhere on the upper floors (and this is a 30+ floor hotel) would have a similar view. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom amenities were reasonable. I might have liked bigger fluffier towels and robes, but I'm sure the rate goes up for that kind of thing.
A few things kept this from being 4star: there was no in-room safe nor a small refrigerator. These probably would both have been used had they been there. Also, my wife was convinced that someone had been smoking in our non-smoking room at some point; I thought that maybe she was right but I wasn't sure.
The concert venue in the hotel was good and of course darned convenient.
This hotel is owned in concert with the Circus Circus and El Dorado hotels across the street. It is physically connected to the El Dorado under the street. We got a bit lost trying to get out of the hotel to the sidewalk (would it really hurt to put up exit signs? does it not violate the building code in Nevada to fail to do that?) so we ended up in the El Dorado without meaning to and eventually followed the signed to shuttle buses to find a pedestrian exit. It was a short walk to the Truckee River and local restaurants which are as good as, but cheaper than, those within the hotel.
If staying in downtown Reno, this is a reasonable choice.
The hotel is well located with amenities of the same class of hotel you would find in Las Vegas. The hotel staff is cordial and helpful and there is a free shuttle to and from the airport. Restaurants are reasonable and good (Cantor's may be the exception). The show was fun and entertaining. You can walk all over down town Reno from the hotel. Very good experience without breaking the bank.
Great place to have a conference meeting. The accommodations are outstanding, the spacious meeting rooms and assembly areas, and the food is great. Plenty of things to do and see around the area and the weather was perfect.
Let me start by saying, I am not a huge fan of Reno. We came to town for the Fresno State/UNR softball tournament. We chose the Silver Legacy as I believe it is the nicest of the 3 hotels that connect in the area. Highlights included We had a great time at the the martini happy hour and dinner at Roxy. Rooms could uses some updating.
