Clean, comfortable, lots of homeless people in area

The room was clean and everything in working condition. Pillow cases were stained, perhaps from pressing. (See photo)
I encountered at least 15 homeless people in a half mile walk from the hotel. None were aggressively pan-handling. The walk by the river is lovely.
As mentioned by others, the parking fee is high, but I did not feel comfortable walking around at night so I didn't park on the street.
Note for older folks -typical high bed so not easy to get in and out of if you have any mobility issues.

Excellent property on the river

They upgraded us to a suite because we are platinum and we had access to their lounge, which was staffed by Susie. We have spent hundreds of nights in hotels with Executive lounges and Susie is among the best hostesses we have ever experienced. She is worth the stay here.

Absolutely Gorgeous Facility

I choose this hotel because it’s non-smoking, has free self parking and the Marriott brand. We found in downtown Reno that anything north of the Truckee River was a bit sketchy, pawn shops, wedding chapels, old casinos, storefronts with bars on windows, homeless, etc. But on the South side is this beautiful renovation going on that is anchored by this aptly named Renaissance which sits right on the river. Although the river view from our room had a nice view of homeless people sleeping on the other side of the river, it also had a view of the mountains.

The room was luxurious, big and comfortable. The bathroom is very nice. The shower head was incredible and the hole cut in the glass to turn it on was genius. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were able to secure an early check in and a late checkout. Attached to the south side of the hotel is the very big Bundix Bocce Entertainment Venue. It looks totally amazing with Skee Ball and other games, I wish we had more time to explore. The hotel is just minutes from Midtown where the big new beautiful casinos, with free parking, are located. There are some brand new little restaurants and shops within walking distance one block south on Pine Street.
