How to Get There
The Platinum Hotel and Spa is non-smoking, non-gaming full service suite hotel. It really is a sanctuary located near the action (just a block from the Las Vegas strip) Valet parking only. We arrived early but were immediately checked in to a spacious room - kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bath and a balcony. The kitchen had a washer and dryer - a godsend for us as we had three weeks of laundry! The hotel is only a block from the strip and within minutes we were in front of the famous Bellagio Hotel fountains. There are lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel has a nice bar with friendly staff (all the staff were great ) on the ground floor with a happy hour! The dining room is very pleasant - we had breakfast there which we thought reasonably priced for good food and choice. The pool is on the fifth floor and we enjoyed a very relaxing day there. Overall a great place to stay if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the busier hotels on the strip but want easy access to all the activities and restaurants. Definately would stay here again as probably one of the best hotels rooms we stayed in over a two month trip.
Hotel is nice, slightly dated but in good shape. I liked that I had a balcony with a table and chairs I could use in my room. When I checked in around mid-day there were at least 5 or 6 room service trays down my hall from breakfast. When I check out the next day, also mid-day, they were all still there. Makes me worry about bugs being in the rooms, not that I saw any. The bar was very nice and the bartender was great. Good food and service. I visited the pool in the afternoon and there was nobody to take a drink order. I later found out you need to pick up the phone in the pool area and request someone come and take your order. I ended up using their "virtual assistant" via text and was able to get a drink. Lastly, when I checked out, I requested a final bill. I received a bill that didn't have all my expenses so I mentioned this to the front office clerk. He didn't know how to provide this to me and had to go in the back and get assistance. I saw a number of charges and credits from the 2 bills so I will need to check my credit card to ensure I was properly charged. Overall, nice facility, just need to sharpen the staffing.
Pulled up to my favorite hotel in Vegas. On a hot summer day I had called ahead to see if I can check in early and they kindly let me know it was fine. When I get here, to my surprise, Marisol & Jessica took care of me with a smile and fantastic service! These two know how to get a weekend started! My weekend is starting off well and its all thanks to them. Thank you!
I chose this hotel for amenities and proximity to the strip. I also really love the inexpensive Ellis Island brewery/casino and karaoke house that is next door. You cannot pass up Ellis Island. Having access to the spa at Platinum was great since hotels on the strip charge a separate fee for their spas. The room was of course really spacious and the balcony was a great bonus. I agree that one great part was having access to a pool side recliner and not having a million people at the pool like the bigger casinos. I did not mind the short walk to the best part of the strip, Flamingo and Las Vegas Blvd and at the intersection you find Cesar's, Bally's Flamingo and Bellagio. I would NOT recommend taking a cab from Cesar's because the walk is fun and the cab ride is not much quicker. I had no problems whatsoever with the staff at Platinum they were all good or great. Platinum is a great place to stay if you like some peace with your Vegas and your able to walk 6-7 minutes- the one long block from Koval to the strip. I've stayed at the Flamingo a lot and did like the classier feel of Platinum and the more peaceful feel without the drunken teenage atmosphere you get on weekends at Flamingo. But to each their own.
Platinum is a cut above the rest....great rooms, some with a washer and dryer, full kitchen, balcony, coffee machine....many of your expenses can be minimized by staying here....valet service or free public parking on site...we love it!!!!
