How to Get There
Love this hotel. Staff was professional. It is connected to a mall so you have plenty of conveniences like shopping, eating, drinking, gambling, salons or whatever you may be into. We were close to venues & within walking distance to everything we needed.
First, didn’t get my warm welcome I expect from Hilton brand hotels. I am a diamond member with Hilton and didn’t expect anything because of my status but still expected that warm Hilton welcome. I got a ‘How may I help you?’ ‘Here goes your room key.’ I asked about upgrades and was informed no they can’t do it. I was invited out there for the Vacation club presentation. We got to our room and it was a little outdated. Red and black decor. During our Vacation club presentation we were informed we are staying on there floor that hasn’t been remodeled yet.
Second, beware of sticky finger staff. We put stuff in the safe the first day. On the second day we around 2pm we needed to put my wife’s wallet in the safe to head to the pool and it didn’t want to open. Security was notified, came to the room 5 mins later and couldn’t fix the safe. We were informed an engineer would come and fix it and it could take 20-30 mins for him to respond. We recorded to put my wife’s wallet inside our carry-on, wrapped in clothes, and at the bottom of the bag zippered closed. When we returned to the room around 5:30pm we called security to see if the safe was fixed. They didn’t know and were going to call me back. During that time my wife looked inside the bag for clothes for the night and noticed her wallet, which had her jewelry in it, missing. When security called back with the temporary code for the safe I informed them of the situation. After waiting about 15mins and security wasn’t there I decided to go downstairs and talk to the security guard that stands by the elevators. He called over the radio to get someone out there and that took another 5mins. So overall 20mins for security to respond to a theft call. When they responded they kept saying all the time this happens it’s always a misplaced item. They kept telling us to make sure we check all over the room because it was probably misplaced. Supervisor responded and talked to us but didn’t give us to much information. Told us he would pull the card swipes for the door to see who was in the room and get statements from the individuals. Wish I had read a separate review reporting theft from someone’s room when she put the item inside her carry-on bag. I was upset at the situation because I travel a lot with Hilton and never had this problem. I was really interested in buying the vacation club but after that my wife’s wallet went missing I had no interest.
Third, is good news. Great location. Right off the strip. Connected to the Miracle Mile Shops which are located inside Planet Hollywood.
This was a great trip for my wife and I. The resort was amazing and is located in the heart of the strip. Everything we needed or want to do was within reasonable walking distance. The ambience of this place was spectacular, the view from our floor overlooking the pool was gorgeous. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We are already looking to book another trip here!
Elara is an extremely nice hotel in a great location behind the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino. The pool area was very nice to lounge around and have a few drinks, but the pool water was cloudy and a little too nasty looking. It just needs better care from the pool guys and gals. For that reason I'm not giving it an excellent rating. All other amenities were great and on par with a lot of the other surrounding hotels & casinos.
-Self parking is FREE and accessible form Aubrie street. It’s shared with the miracle mile mall so spaces are a bit hard to find.
And the parking lot is sticky and smells from all the spills which happen at a mall.
Proceed to hotel entrance on 3rd floor
-Dryers in the suite rooms are washer and dryer combo so each load can take 3-4 hours. Even the dryer alone is 2 hours. If you plan to do laundry call a technician early in your visit to get help with dryer cycle. 2 of the loads we ran didn’t completely dry and the suggestion was to hang our clothes out to finish the drying. (Boo). We were on our way out for the night so I didn’t call someone up.
- Starbucks on property — you can earn stars but not redeem rewards
Once there The hotel is very nice, clean, comfortable. We have visited about 6 HGVC properties and the 2 BR suite was the biggest space we’ve had so far. living and kitchens areas were very spacious
Most of the appliances match other properties which makes it easy to use them. (Sans W/D combo).
Pool is decent with 1 foot entry, lazy chairs in water and then 3.5 feet deep all the way across.
Bar near the pool but not swim up
Comfortable / shaded chairs appear to open up for no charge at 6p. During the day there is a rental fee. Otherwise some chairs in tree shade if you are there early enough. Enjoy!!
