French manor house charm and a sumptuous vino-centric spa in the Napa Valley's foodie fantasyland

The Look

This inn and its sprawling grounds looks like what might happen if an elegant French country manor were deconstructed and dropped into the heart of California Wine Country. From this charming spot, rows of neatly manicured rose bushes and the occasional white picket gate are all that separates you from the gourmet fantasyland of Yountville. Among the orange trees and rose bushes you’ll find tumble-down farm carts converted into planters and stone-lined pools filled with water from a burbling fountain. The evocation is fitting, since parts of the property are converted from the original Groezinger Estate winery, which dates back to the 1870s.

Bed & Bath

Overlooking the grounds are 80 spacious guestrooms set in clusters of two-story wood-paneled or brick cottages. The rooms offer luxe amenities that belie the property’s rustic feel. This is pure country charm — with a much higher thread count. Each room has its own wood-burning fireplace, and ground-floor rooms have private patios, while second-floor spaces are equipped with balconies and wood-raftered cathedral ceilings.

Days start with a free champagne breakfast and wind down with you warming by the wood-burning fireplace after a soak in the oversize hot tub. In between, you can play a few sets of tennis on the on-premises courts, relax at the world-class Spa Villagio on the Estate grounds or stretch out with a yoga or Pilates class. Travel the wine trail on your own (the inn provides free iPod Touches preprogrammed with winery maps and suggested tour routes) or with a bike touring company, and, of course, eat your way through the Michelin Guide. No joke: Yountville boasts more Michelin stars per capita than any other hamlet in the nation.

Peaceful 4 Star Hotel With Great Service and Wood Burning Fireplaces..

We just visited for a second time -this time with our 80 year old parents who we booked a private room for...

The experience here depends largely on the room.... the upper floor rooms have the vaulted ceilings in an octagon, and are worth the extra money... the shower and products are nice quality.... the main lobby is updated and architecturally very "Napa White Farmhouse" with a wonderful upscale feel...

The resort itself is older, but the updates they have made have worked very well, and you don't feel that anything is dated.... there are little water features throughout...which add to the peacefulness of the place..

Service was great - the bellboys went above and beyond.

Nice Stay at Vintage House
Wes R

4 nights at the Vintage House in October was lovely....perfect time to be there. Very nice accommodations, spacious room and wine tastings daily. Wonderful breakfast spread each morning. All restaurants and shops within walking distance. Shout out to Cole, one of the valets, who helped us daily with fun tips as we moved around the Napa Valley and experienced numerous vineyards.

Perfect location

My husband and I had to book other accommodations due to the power outage and were lucky enough to get a room at the Vintage House. Our room was not ready upon our arrival but when we returned at the end of the day we were greeted with a very nice surprise of a room upgrade to a beautiful loft...Thanks Sam! We also received a glass of champaign upon arrival and a nice bottle of wine and a cheese plate were delivered later in the evening. The hotel is centrally located in Yountville. You can walk to all the restaurants and shops, and it's an easy drive to all of the wineries in St. Helena and Calistoga. They have a lovely breakfast every morning and the staff are friendly, professional and really do everything they can to make your stay exceptional. We look forward to returning!
