Nice quiet place

We just returned from our second stay at the Wine Country Inn. Very nice place although the housekeeping was a little shaky.....the place was very clean but they didn't replace the glassware or soaps. I am sure that is a sign of the times, it is getting very hard to retain staff as the cost of living is insane. That said I would stay here again in a second, this will be our first choice to stay from now on. We couldn't get into out usual place, the Harvest Inn but now I am glad we couldn't. The breakfast, included was solid every morning. Our room was what they call garden view but it had a very nice private patio looking out on the vineyard. I have a tough time walking. Our room was perfectly located for me but some rooms are quite a walk down hill, or uphill on the way out. That said those rooms have the higher price views. The rooms are large with nice sized bathrooms and big beds. The place is far enough from the highway to be quiet, nice and quiet especially at night. The breakfast room has the great view and deck. We go to the wine country at least twice a year and we will return.

Beautiful View. Clean Rooms. No peace and quiet.

When we arrived at Wine Country Inn & Cottages, our first thought was "this is cute!" We got checked in promptly, set our things down in our beautiful and clean room, then went to enjoy the complimentary wine tasting in the lobby (which is apparently limited to just a few weeks).

Unfortunately, the beautiful view from the room and great service from the staff was spoiled by the paper thin walls, and all of the noise that permeated them. All night and morning, we could hear EVERYTHING; people talking above us, every door closing, every footstep taken to a neighboring room. We were able to ignore it for most of the night, but were afraid to get too intimate in fear of neighbors hearing us as clearly as we could hear others.

The worst came at 5am, when one of our upstairs neighbors were up talking and moving about (for some reason). My girlfriend and I both had a really tough time staying asleep with all of the noise.

We took this little vacation to evade the noise that we typically hear around our apartment at home, but unfortunately, even our apartment was quieter than staying in this room.

Other than the noise, the location was great as well. Parking was abundant and we were about 5–10 minutes away from most wineries and downtown St. Helena, which made grabbing food or a glass of wine easy.

All in all, the experience at Wine Country Inn was pleasant, but due to the rough night of sleep alone, I doubt we'll come back.

Petite King is not “petite.” Our room was spacious with a king bed, nightstands, dresser, two chairs with an ottoman and side table. Large bathroom with walk-in shower was perfect. Room appeared to have been recently renovated and showed no signs of wear. The pool/spa area is beautiful and the views and grounds delightful. A large spread was laid out for breakfast with hot egg dishes, rosemary potatoes, bacon, fresh fruit plate, assorted breads from a local bakery, cereals, yogurt, etc. Waffles are provided upon request. The location of this hotel put us in close proximity to every winery we planned to visit and is a short drive to St. Helena shopping and restaurants.
