Welcome to Napa Valley’s own Ivy League. Tucked behind the crawling vines covering the buildings of Saint Helena’s Main Street and the tracks of the Napa wine train, Southbridge makes an ideal base for exploring the valley and the historic hamlet that serves as its hub. The hotel building is quite modern, though the crawling ivy and lushly landscaped courtyard help it fit in amid its distinguished and long-tenured neighbors, such as Merryvale Winery, which was the first Napa Valley vineyard to be opened after the repeal of Prohibition. Tucked on the second floor, the rooms all have vaulted ceilings, fireplaces, king beds with down comforters and Juliette balconies. Although there is no on-site restaurant, there’s a daily free breakfast of freshly baked pastries, seasonal fruits and locally roasted coffee.
In the Area
Enjoy free access to the pool, eucalyptus steam room and fitness center at Health Spa Napa Valley. And be sure to ask Southbridge staff to book a rejuvenating treatment package for you. The name Tra Vigne means “among the vines” in Italian, and the landmark ivy-covered building looks the part. The elegant dining room serves up Italian fare prepared with fresh local ingredients. The one-screen theater on Main Street has that Old Hollywood glam feel and shows a mix of current releases and art house films. Pair steaks at Press with some of the big reds from the all-Napa wine list, which features some rare and interesting local bottles. Or, whip up your own gourmet meal alongside the expert chef-instructors at The Culinary Institute of America right up the road.
How to Get There
This hotel is very warm and welcoming place to stay. The room was spacious and had all needed amenities (hair products, blow drier, bathrobes etc). Bed was big and comfortable to sleep on. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The hotel has a spa next door and as a hotel guest I was welcomed to use their outdoor pool and steam sauna. If you arrive by a car you have a complimentary parking. The location is very convenient! You have a lot of restaurants and wineries in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again! :)
We stay in this darling boutique hotel every time we come into the Napa Valley area. It's St. Helena location is in the very best spot to enjoy all that St. Helena and the surrounding area has to offer. The hotel is spotless. But even better than that are the people who work here. From the Manager, to the front desk staff, to the breakfast crew, to the hotel housekeeping, to the spa employees; they ALL could not be more friendly, professional and accommodating. We try to visit Napa 2x a year and would never consider staying anywhere else. In the past, we have stayed in the area's top hotels and I can honestly say nothing comes close to the warmth and hospitality of this hotel. Trust me when I say you WON'T be disappointed! We're going back this spring...Can't wait! Thank you, Southbridge!

Looking for a hotel in the middle of everything in Napa the this is your place. Spacious rooms, attentive staff great breakfast, spa and gym access and walking distance to downtown St Helena. It has it all.
St Helena is a town you want to walk thru and take in. This hotel is perfect for this as well as being comfortable and reasonable. It’s my second visit her and it’s my go spot when in Napa or Sonoma
We chose this hotel because it was located in an area where you could walk to restaurants and downtown. The staff was helpful. The room was large with a skylight in the bathroom which allowed for natural light. There was also uplighting in the bathroom along the upper rail of the wainscoting and a dimmer on the light. It was nicely designed. There was no bathtub, but the shower area was large. Bathrobes were provided. There is an honor bar. Nice wine glasses were provided. Water and apples were in our room. The refrigerator was somewhat noisy for me. I am very sound sensitive. There was a Juliet balcony and we overlooked the parking lot, which was not a problem. One lovely afternoon, back early from our travels, we opened the doors and sat and read. It was relaxing. There is a fireplace in the room. They provided a duraflame log. We lit it one evening. It was nice. The odor from the fire took a while to clear, so think about it before lighting it! The breakfast is continental with a nice selection. The pastries are from Model, including the English Muffins. There was some sliced meat and hard boiled eggs. We needed to leave very early on the day we checked out to get to the airport. We were assured we’d be able to get breakfast items by 6:30 a.m., and it was all ready when we came down, not just part of the breakfast. We sat by the pool (spa next door which we had full access). The fitness area was large with machines and weights. The locker room had a steam room. We walked to restaurants three evenings. Oddly, one morning there was not an extra roll of toilet paper under our sink and we ran out. It took a little while for a lamp in the room to be fixed, but eventually it was replaced. We would return here and recommend this hotel.
Absolutely WONDERFUL experience at The Southbridge! Couldn’t have asked for more. I read a review concerning the lack of hospitality...DON’T believe it for a second. Marcelle, and Her Staff couldn’t have been more gracious/helpful. She recommended many local sites, and restaurants, and they were AMAZING! They went out of their way to greet, and assist beyond any place I’ve ever stayed! Hope to re-visit Napa, and wouldn’t look any further than The Southbridge!!!
