How to Get There
Fantastic place to stay in Napa. We were in the two bedroom cottage and loved every minute. Roomy space with terrific bathrooms. Extremely clean.
Kellie handled every detail from wine tastings, spa treatments, and smores at night.
Amazing experience. Would come back to Napa just to stay here!
We chose The Cottages of Napa Valley based on reviews and what we were looking for. Couldn’t have been better! We were in cottage #3 and it was perfect! We wanted a “getaway” feel that was relaxing and quaint! The cottage itself is so homey and has everything you might need. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom with the jacuzzi tub was a nice perk!
We loved receiving our basket of pastries each morning to enjoy with our coffee...delicious! Our favorite part was in the evening, having a glass of wine at our private fire pit! So relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. The owner Mike Smith was so nice and helpful with any questions we had. We enjoyed our chats with him very much! A shout out to Yvonne, Kelsey, Kelly and Erika who were all wonderful and made our stay perfect! It’s an amazing concept. Life is so busy and to be able to stay somewhere that allows your mind and soul to rest is a rare gift! Great job Mike!!
We chose this place due to the amazing ratings on TripAdvisor. WHY A 3 of 5?
4. Nice history
5. Privacy (Nobody above or to our sides)
7. Breakfast at the door
8. French press coffee
9. Comfortable bed
Not so good:
1. Stayed in cottage 6, which very well may have been the smallest.
2. Absolutely no clothes storage. We had to live out of our suitcases.
3. The hutch that holds the TV takes up the needed space in the middle of the room,
which makes the cottage look smaller.
4. This same hutch was more than half filled with their stuff leaving almost nothing for
5. The TV could not properly swivel for a good view from the bed. We do not watch TV
much, but it is an indulgence to watch from bed on vacation. It should be mounted
on the wall in that location with a swivel. A shorter dresser/drawers below.
7. For $454 per night, we could never recommend this establishment. We understand
there are larger, nicer cottages. However, when we are stuck with the bottom of
choices, it is the only impression we have.
8. A poor value for what was received. We travel extensively, and to many countries. I
am sorry to say this was a big disappointment.
Out of fairness to the proprietor, I did not give this a 1 dot rating as suggested by my wife. I am assuming the other cottages are larger and nicer.
I can say that we will never stay there again, nor will we recommend this to friends. The photos on the website are real, but deceiving. The photos I took of our room made it look great. It is all in the composition.
My husband and I loved our stay at the cottages! It was our first trip to Napa Valley and we wanted to make the most of it. Kellie was beyond helpful and planned a wonderful itinerary for us. We didn't have to think at all and her choices were spectacular. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. Mike, the owner is a lovely gentleman. When our driver didn't show for our winery tours, Mike stepped right in and we enjoyed a beautiful day with Mike showing us around! We feel like we've known him all our lives.
The cottage itself is a gem. It really has an old-world charm to it with lots of modern amenities! Mike has included so many nice touches - the glass of wine on arrival, refrigerator replenished daily with coffee and cream, smores to make outside, rides available for dinner....We loved waking up to find the basket of Bouchon pastries, using the french press in the room, swinging on the porch or sitting by the chiminea in the evening with a glass of wine. We could not have asked for a more relaxing place to spend our anniversary!
We will definitely be returning to Napa and staying at the cottages. We look forward to seeing Mike and his lovely staff again!
My husband and I stayed here for two nights. Very nice and cozy! Private; great outdoor space, nice porch area with swing, glider; table and chairs surrounded by bamboo plants and hedges all this set in a nicely manicured grounds that is well maintained. ...even has an outdoor fire pit with wood, lighter and matches supplied. Indoors - clean, kept up, comfortable a nice indoor space. it has fireplace; nice indoor kitchenette with some dishes and silverware, microwave, sink, small fridge (with creamer, orange juice, cokes, waters) ...wonderful bed..nice tub...just too many amenities to list! Loved it here! Would go back in a heartbeat!
