A peaceful stay in a private cottage with a view of the surrounding mountains in California wine country

The Lowdown

The time is ripe to visit Aurora Park Cottages, a lovely bed-and-breakfast in the heart of Napa Valley’s Calistoga. And the time is ripe to start sampling Calistoga’s wines, too – perhaps at a local winery, or perhaps on your cottage’s deck, which overlooks the mountains and oaks. In fact, the staff at this charming getaway wants to make it as easy as possible for you to taste your way around town, and in addition to offering customized and discounted wine excursions, will send you a document full of tasting notes shortly after you book your stay.
Still, it’s one thing to sip wine, and another thing entirely to live in the carefree spirit of a true oenophile. Your laid-back cottage is also a perfect base for all sorts of other idyllic Napa adventures, like taking hot-air-balloon rides, going on bike trips, visiting Old Faithful or arranging romantic picnics. Again, ask the staff to set up your outing, or take a particularly spontaneous approach, and simply plan your vacation as you go. You should have lots of energy from the complimentary roasted coffee and daily in-cottage breakfast-basket delivery, featuring warm, filling pastries and fresh fruit.

Your cottage is a charming, beautifully decorated abode with traditionally inspired furnishings, as well as more contemporary artwork. The amenities are modern, as well, such as complimentary Wi-Fi and an HDTV. You’ll have an outdoor deck with an umbrella-shaded table, where you can behold breathtaking views of the oaks, mountains and valley. Fall asleep on a plush featherbed.

Set in the heart of Napa Valley, Calistoga has a whole load of things for you to do. Its authentic architecture and famous hot springs have helped it become a Distinctive Destination, according to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Aside from its old-fashioned charm, this California paradise offers an abundance of outdoor activities – from biking and hiking to hot-air ballooning, canoeing and kayaking. The town’s endless shops and restaurants are bound to keep you busy during your stay, and of course, there are always those wineries, when you’re ready to taste the world-famous reds.

Super awesome in the heart of Calistoga!

My gal pal and I stayed at one of the Aurora Park Cottages for two nights. The accommodations are spacious and the perfect balance of comfortably upgraded and budget. The bed linens were incredibly soft and there were feather beds and down comforters too! The complimentary breakfast fruit and pastries in the morning delivered to your door was very special. Kate the on site Manager was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I had forgot my blender for my diet smoothies and Kate welcomed us into her home to use her blender and ice.

I will definitely stay here again!

Great Place to Stay

The individual cottages are Great. They provide wonderful privacy, & were a delight to stay in. The cottage was extremely clean & very comfortable. We had a Continental breakfast delivered to our door each morning. Fresh fruit, croissants, scones, & fruit juice. We had a coffee maker in the room to make our own coffee.
The location is very good. We walked to town a couple times. Some people may find the walk to be a bit far, but if your active, it's not bad. It was only 3-4 blocks to downtown.
I would have no problem recommending to friends that they stay here, & we will stay here again when in the area.

Beautiful Hidden Gem

There's nothing better than having your own private space where your walls don't touch your neighbor's walls. These cottages are super cute, well appointed, and in a perfect location (walking distance to downtown - be sure to cross over to Myrtle Ave if you do). The bed is soft and comfortable, and there's plenty of cozy space to just hang out and relax - outside on your own deck, too. The innkeeper is beyond friendly and hospitable, and the breakfast she delivers to you in the morning is the perfect way to start the day. We cannot wait to come back, and plan on being return guests over and over again.

Amazing stay!

We had a great time and the breakfast provided was amazing and tasted home made. The gal who runs the place made us feel at home and the sheets were like heaven they were so soft! Had a nice large shower and was private even though the cottages were in close proximity. 100% will stay again if in the area. No complaints at all!!!

True Gem with the best bed on Earth!

Our individual cottage had parking in front in its own drive...table and chairs with umbrella and chaise lounge on the deck for hanging out in the sun....the room was "L" shaped, with queen bed at one end, two huge lounge chairs with table and lamp in between and cocktail table in front, the L had a high top table with swivel barstools, and a bar table with coffee maker. The place was immaculately clean, and offered all the needs for comfort, including the most comfortable bed on the planet. Beakfast arrives at you door at 8:30 am......
