The time is ripe to visit Aurora Park Cottages, a lovely bed-and-breakfast in the heart of Napa Valley’s Calistoga. And the time is ripe to start sampling Calistoga’s wines, too – perhaps at a local winery, or perhaps on your cottage’s deck, which overlooks the mountains and oaks. In fact, the staff at this charming getaway wants to make it as easy as possible for you to taste your way around town, and in addition to offering customized and discounted wine excursions, will send you a document full of tasting notes shortly after you book your stay.
Still, it’s one thing to sip wine, and another thing entirely to live in the carefree spirit of a true oenophile. Your laid-back cottage is also a perfect base for all sorts of other idyllic Napa adventures, like taking hot-air-balloon rides, going on bike trips, visiting Old Faithful or arranging romantic picnics. Again, ask the staff to set up your outing, or take a particularly spontaneous approach, and simply plan your vacation as you go. You should have lots of energy from the complimentary roasted coffee and daily in-cottage breakfast-basket delivery, featuring warm, filling pastries and fresh fruit.
Your cottage is a charming, beautifully decorated abode with traditionally inspired furnishings, as well as more contemporary artwork. The amenities are modern, as well, such as complimentary Wi-Fi and an HDTV. You’ll have an outdoor deck with an umbrella-shaded table, where you can behold breathtaking views of the oaks, mountains and valley. Fall asleep on a plush featherbed.
Set in the heart of Napa Valley, Calistoga has a whole load of things for you to do. Its authentic architecture and famous hot springs have helped it become a Distinctive Destination, according to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Aside from its old-fashioned charm, this California paradise offers an abundance of outdoor activities – from biking and hiking to hot-air ballooning, canoeing and kayaking. The town’s endless shops and restaurants are bound to keep you busy during your stay, and of course, there are always those wineries, when you’re ready to taste the world-famous reds.
How to Get There
This is a Calistoga gem! We had an overnight stay at this place and it’s one of the best sleep we’ve had in any place outside our own home! Our beautiful cottage is like having your own vacation house and not a hotel room! The manager,Kate, was very accomodating and friendly! To top it all,the continental breakfast (fresh baked pastry, fresh fruit and juice) delivered to you in a cute basket in the morning is a special touch to their hospitality that just makes you feel pampered. You rarely see this kind of service anymore! We would love to stay here for more than one night next time we visit. This place is highly recommended when you are planning to stay in Napa Valley. For the management and staff, keep up the great work!!
My husband and I spend two nights at Aurora Park Cottages and really enjoyed our stay. The one room cottages are not big, but we had enough room and felt comfortable in the space. We loved the location and the deck to enjoy the wonderful weather in the Napa Valley. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and the blueberry scones were the best we’ve ever had. The pastry, fruit, coffee and juice breakfast was great for us since my husband loves breakfast food and we could still have brunch out later in the day and try all the amazing food in the area. We highly recommend this location for a laid back and comfortable stay in Calistoga!
we have stayed in Calistoga before and the difference of being off the road is huge. quiet surroundings. almost like camping. hospitable in nkeeper and at one point in the early evening, we were all outside enjoying our decks.
