Convention Weekend
Reviewed 4 days ago

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Foxwoods for a convention we were attending there. Our room was really nice, we are not gamblers, so we walked a lot, saw the many hotels many times, ate at a bunch of great restaurants, and of course spent time at the event. Great weekend getaway!

A comfortable night!

This was a comfortable place to stay with a very large room and nice bathroom. The only downside was that the pool was full of kids and they closed the pool to kids at 5:00 and made it an adult only pool from 5 to close. You could walk to the great cedar to use their hotel if desired.

Even before I retired I always loved this casino in Connecticut. The grand paquete pool is absolutely amazing. Especially if you are traveling with children and like a little gaming this casino is it. Most of my traveling so far has been around casinos. I do enjoy gaming but are you also I'm a bigger fan of the comfort of the hotel the service of the people, the scenery of the area and of course the food. I do have one dilemma with the casino or casinos in Connecticut. I have been back and forth for almost 20 years and have never received a comp room. Or much comp in general. Maybe because I'm not a big gamer but I equally enjoy all the aspects the casino offers.

Ridiculous

We have never had a bad experience here but that all changed this week. We checked in on Sunday and our Suite was ready to check in, I paid extra for this, and yes, the room was very nice. First of all the guy who brought up our luggage could not have been less friendlier. Like he didn't even want to be there. Then we notice that there was only 1 bathrobe in closet and we called down as soon as we noticed, that was around 12:30, so after two more calls the other robe was brought up, that was at 6 PM, NO EXCUSE. Okay, now to day two, so we had a minor snow storm, not a blizzard. We could see from our room that all the roads were pretty clear up by 7-8 AM. We left our room around 8, returned at 10, not maid service yet. Then we left again around 1, came back at 3, and our room was still not made up. But we did see a maid working on the room next door, so we left, assuming our room was next. We cam back at 4:15, still not done and not a maid to be seen. So after call down numerous times with no answer, I went down to the front desk, and the girl says to me, they were not providing maid service that day, because of the storm, again, it was not a blizzard. So I said to her, there was a maid working on the room next door, she said, that was for people who were checking in. So I guess the people who already have rooms are second class, they already have our money, and know we are not going anywhere.. So she finally says to me, "she could not guarantee a time, but our room would be made up and fresh towels brought up", we left the room at 5, returned around 10, and guess what, you got it, NO MAID SERVICE. Nobody reached out to us with a call to our room saying why not. We really don't feel that we are being unreasonable. Again, have come here numerous times. Enjoy the hotel, and the restaurants.... but they totally struck out this time.

Great room

The room and bathroom were very spacious! I loved the coloring and the setup. The bed and pillows were comfortable however the sheets were a bit stiff. I have stayed at the other two hotels at Foxwoods and this one would be my favorite other than the sheets. The location was perfect, in the middle of everything and we had so much room it didn’t feel like a hotel room.
