How to Get There
For our anniversary we stayed at the Grand Pequot Tower & saw a concert at the Grand Theater. The concert venue was wonderful, but the hotel was really dirty, with very worn fabrics, furniture, linens & even the granite bath countertops were dull. There was a 4” reddish stain & holes on the duvet cover, stains on the upholstered chair & the hallways on the floor smelled like smoke - although the sign next to each ash tray claim it was a No Smoking floor. Big disappointment - a $625 per night disappointment. There are so many great places to go to spend that kind of money...
First impression was very good. Friendly lady at check in. Room was spacious and very clean. The cleaning staff must be well trained and motivated.

When we checked out of the hotel, the lady behind the counter showed little interest in us. She didnt ask us how our stay had been, no "hope to see you again", no "wish you a safe trip home". No nothing really. If she worked for me she would have been fired.
That shows that the staff is probably not very well trained.
So this was as expected. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you are going to the Grand Pequot for relaxation as well as gambling, upgrade to the petite suite. It consists of two enormous rooms (bedroom as well as sitting area). The sitting area has an enormous couch as well as three or four additional seats. There is a bar area adjacent to sitting area with a typical hotel-sized refrigerator. The refrigerator was stocked with Coke and water, (No indication if it was on the house,)There are two bathrooms. The main one has both a shower and a bath tub. The safe was very large; important in these days when you want to store a large laptop computer.
The environment was so friendly that we spent much time in the room when we tired of gambling.

The hotel looks wonderful from the outside and certainly has many things your looking for whether on business or pleasure. What they are in serious need of is a front desk manager who can ensure his / her employees are taking care of the customer to absolutely basic standards.
I was the recipient of the worst case scenario. I showed up at Fox Tower, unbeknownst to me. As I was unloading, the valet took off with my vehicle. I had previously asked if this was the Grand Pequot and he mumbled yes. I waited at the wrong check in line for 30 minutes, sent my baggage off with the bellhop..only to find I was in the wrong hotel!
I had to get my stuff out of the bell, walk 10 minutes to the other hotel, without my car or I would have to wait another 20 minutes, to arrive sweaty, frustrated and ready for my room.
I waiter another 20 minutes at check in and the woman at the front desk without any real concern tells a clearly already unhappy customer my room is not ready...! It’s 4:10 pm. I then said, check in say 4 which most would never have you wait until and you a huge hotel, how is that possible? She replies, I’m sorry, we just don’t. I said it was unacceptable and shared my story. She went to get her manager, but with little concern for my frustration. The manager not only in a nutshell confirmed her story about there being no rooms, she then said, “Sir, we are a casino”. I replied, “weird, I thought I paid for a hotel room”, she responded, “well we are also a casino and things are different here, do you want to be put on the call list or not” for the “additional” wait.
Just absolutely terrible treatment and I will never stay here again. If you removed the third party vendors, no one of the hotel was pleasant. My non smoking room smelled of smoke, of course and I could not open the door to my balcony as it was locked with a key to let fresh air in. The room was okay, pillows were trash. TV stations were pretty cumbersome to sort through.
No redeeming qualities to speak of... except the elevators moved pretty fast, halls were clean, bathrooms were nicely appointed. Sounds like the Hilton up the street is at the least about the same and less than a mile away.
To the hotel, your front desk staff on Monday May 21st at 4:10 pm and the manager who was a middle aged woman if I were to guess were horrible and you should be training your employees to treat people in these situations with much more respect. I was offered nothing, not a concern, a smile, or a water for my frustration.
First let me say that I highly recommend this hotel!!! Not only is it decorated nicely, clean, and spacious, but the staff are absolutely incredible. We booked on Booking.com for a deluxe king, only to find out upon arrival that Booking.com had apparently cancelled my reservation the day before without my permission! I was absolutely shattered, and stressing out after a 7.5 hour drive to get there from Ontario. The staff addressed the situation immediately, and as I was trying to get a hold of Booking.com, one of the staff was able to get a hold of them and got my reservation re-instated. Since I was showing as cancelled in the system, I lost my deluxe king room, but they upgraded us for free to a suite, which was absolutely the most incredible room I have ever stayed in. They went above and beyond, and we will absolutely be back as a result! Thank you!
