How to Get There
Every time I come to this hotel, I feel as though I have come home. The welcome is amazing. The Front Desk staff are so helpful and always go that extra mile to help you, especially with changing flights.
The menu has vastly improved and offers more variety. Portion sizes are still big, so I tended to share. The breakfast is amazing. They will cook fresh whatever you want. I adored the Onion Bread. Yummy.
I really can’t recommend this hotel enough if you want to relax and chill out. Thankfully it is adult only, so no kids. Also the hotel is pet friendly and they have a beautiful Ginger cat.
All staff are attentive and friendly without being over the top!
The hotel is well maintained and spotlessly clean.
It’s easy to walk into the centre of Bodrum as it is all downhill. Taxi back from the centre is 15 lira. It is not on a bus route.
The gym and swimming pools are good.
The spa is excellent for a massage.
The restaurant at night is lovely as the food is great and you have an amazing view of Bodrum and the surrounding hills.
I can’t wait to return. Missing it already.
Great location, came during quiet season but the weather was still hot.
The host/owner gave us a very friendly welcome and explained where everything was.
The pool is clean, there were always enough sun beds. Rooms were clean and we were upgraded for free as it was quiet with a room with a sea view.
The gym has everything I needed and more. It also has a great sauna, jacuzzi and steam room.
The massage spa is great as well. Quality massages from 9am till 8:30pm.
The food choice is small but good quality and cocktails by the pool were delicious.
The location is very nice also the Hotel facilities (Rooms, Pool)
The service is the worst I ever saw in a 5 Star hotel.
No body of the reception stuff is speaking english, the treated my like I´m not welcome there, no explanation of the hotel facilities (Restaurant, pool, Gym.....).
There is no service at the hotel at all, instead of asking the guest at the breakfast about drinks, they stand in groups and talking to each other. This only is full of trainees, witch are very rude and unprofessional and also no word of english. I saw that a lot of guest are complaining about there service. I you book this hotel, don't expect any kind of service.
I don't know why this hotel got 5 Stars.
Never ever again for me.
This is in many respects a top Bodrum hotel. It is a deserved 5*, with an excellent location and friendly service, but could need some improvement. My main problem with The Marmara was, what they call "our concept", the fact that there was music everywhere, but no Turkish music! I've never heard so much Spanish and French music as in this hotel. I asked for Turkish music, but they said this is their concept. Very unfortunate, because you overlook the beautiful Bodrum, the Aegean Sea, you drink Raki and eat Lahmacun, but you can not hear Turkish music, that would fit so well with all the rest. It must be a concept of wanting to be international, but I think the management forgets, that visitors of Bodrum want to immerse in the Turkish culture. If they want Spanish culture they go to Barcelona! Please keep this in mind! There is excellent Turkish music and some places, like The Mimoza Restaurant play it too!
Very nice hotel on a hill overseeing Bodrum harbor and castle. It's part of the Small Luxury Hotels chain and this tells it all. Not a huge property, so really personal service, friendly staff (we stayed two weeks and we always saw them smiling), and just with the right amount of luxury and exclusivity for a relaxed vacation a bit away from the crowd. Choosing an adult only hotel made our stay also a bit more comfortable and relaxed.
The Turkish style breakfast buffet is extensive (really great choice of different olives for example), but not much variety and changes over the days (especially if you stay as long as we did). Good news is that you can order omelets, egg benedict or whatever comes to your mind and it’s served in a swift.
There is a daily shuttle service to Flamm Beach where the hotel has an agreement with and you can charge F&B to your room also from there. Transfer time is approx. 20 minutes, but it’s worth it (even you will love the hotel pool with the city view too).
The hotel is, as mentioned, a bit outside the center on a hill, but Taxis were always available and its just a very short and affordable ride to be at the harbor in the middle of high life.
Last but not least I want to thank the great staff of the hotel, and just to name one person, Ms. Fatma, representing all the friendly waiters and the reception staff (I remember just her name, but they were all great) for their exceptional, friendly and professional service.
