Fabulous resort, super friendly staff

My wife and I are only at the end of our first day here, but I just had to post a comment straight away. For health reasons, we asked to move to a room closer to the pool and restaurant. However, when we got to the room, we then decided to move back to the original room, as we preferred it. The hotel manager and front desk manager could not be more helpful. They were only too happy to accommodate our requests and suggested that they could take us from the room to the pool or restaurant by buggy to avoid the amount of steps. This made us very happy.
That aside, I have to say the resort is fantastic. It is very clean, the rooms are spacious and very well equipped, the pool is beautiful and the sunbeds are extremely comfortable. And the views are spectacular.
I have read some reviews about the food, but we had no problems finding something to eat. Plenty of tasty options and lovely fresh fruit.
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and most speak enough English to understand what you are saying.
The resort has a very relaxed feel and we are very much looking forward to the rest of our holiday.

Lovely Hotel / Appalling Food

Arrived at hotel in the early hours of Weds morning and first impressions of hotel was very good with a massive double room with walk in wardrobe and large balcony. Unpacked and went to bed. Fantastic views in the morning and thought !!wow!!.
First noticed no itinerary of hotel detailing meal times or anything going on in hotel on a day to day basis.
Went to breakfast and found no menus available so asked what there was and was told had everything...what a joke..there was barely anything. You could have anything made with eggs except poached egg as they did not know what this was. Ended up just having cereal on most days. Had to ask for tea and coffee top ups in room and had mini bar fridge but no mini bar and no biscuits supplied with tea and coffee facilities. As we were full board we did expect to pay for extra drinks but did not expect to pay for a coffee at lunchtimes when they are inc at breakfast and evening meals.
It appears that this hotel runs on a very limited budget and if it does not have many guests ( barely ten guests when we arrived) they cut back wherever they can. There is no theme nights, no entertainment, there is no pleasant beach walks in fact there is absolutely nothing to do on an evening. By Sat became very bored and we were catching the bus to Bodrum every day just to get out of this resort and we were buying our own snacks and drinks as the price for a small beer at the hotel was 25 lira and a small glass of house wine 30 lira. We noticed that some more guests had arrived over the weekend and at that point the food choice became a little more varied with hot foods now available, and if it ran out then it was not topped up.
The only positive notes about this establishment is the fantastic views and the rooms are very large and in general is kept very clean but that may be due to the lack of guests.
The staff in general were very polite and bend over backwards to help you probably because they were very limited with the facilities on hand. Also found it very difficult to understand what you required due to very limited understanding of English.
We did approach the manager who was very polite but did explain that this hotel is not a general resort hotel but is more of a sophisticated spa hotel where people would come for a spa stay and just enjoy peace and quiet and have a spa then go.
We felt that how the hotel is advertised is very misleading and that their website should be adjusted accordingly.
So if you enjoy a hotel with plenty of variety and good food then this is definitely not for you.
If you enjoy total solitude and wish to seriously diet then this may be the place to go.

5star view , 2 star food

As soon as we arrived at the hotel we knew something was not quite right. There were so many staff to help us and we noticed very quickly that there were very few guests, the first few days we were there they were only five guests in the hotel.

We arrived about 2:30 PM to be told that the restaurant was closed. When we checked in we were told that there was a pool bar cafe restaurant a buffet and that are all-inclusive cover them all. We explained that we were hungry and I said what would we like and suggested the chicken salad which we had. When it came to supper we realise that the buffet was completely closed and that they were new menus available. We once again asked what we would like and anything we suggested they said they did not have so yet again had another chicken salad.

When it came to breakfast the next day there was very little choice. They did not understand poached eggs there were no cooked meats it was just omelette which was like a flat pancake and dry bread that are been left out with a few things like olives and nuts. On the first day there was a yoghurt and then the following days no yoghurts and then the last day another yoghurt! There were no pastries, no pancakes in fact virtually nothing. I usually just had lettuce tomato cheese and some bread for breakfast. We were offered freshly squeezed orange juice a couple of mornings. But there was no other choice.

We again had chicken salad for lunch, no menus and chicken salad for dinner. We were offered mackerel which neither of us liked. Other guests arrived taking on number two about seven guests and they will also not have very shocked. They did not believe us as to the situation with the food until after 24hours at the hotel they said how appalled they were. The staff spoke Little English and we spoke Little Turkish so it was hard to complain as they didn’t understand. One afternoon we asked for ice cream at 4.30pm and was told that the hotel did not serve food between 2.30 and 7.30!!!! We had paid for all inclusive and everything in the hotel was closed!

On the second to last day a menu appeared at
Lunch (most things on it were not available ) There was a man in a suit walking around the hotel in a suit who we later found was the hotel inspector who decides how many stars the hotel should be awarded. The next day the menus disappeared.

When I complained to my tour operator I was told that food was a subjective matter and each hotel had a different all inclusive. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel . What part of no or Little food is subjective or 5 star???!!! The photos on their website are nothing like the food available to us. We were told it was low season but it was middle to end of May and all the other hotels were full.

Since returning to the Uk we have food out that the management changed hands in October and it looks like so did their food budget.

My mini bar was virtually empty on arrival and stayed that way for the whole holiday no matter how many times we asked. The tea and coffee and water was non existent and after a lot of complaining we finally got tea and coffee but had to go and get water every day. We are currently pursuing our tour operator for compensation as we have paid for a five-star all-inclusive holiday and what we received was not even close !

It is very sad as the hotel could be amazing. The views are incredible and the staff on the whole a very friendly. I Appreciate there were very few guests in the hotel but they will not get any more guests if they do not have any food or choice of food or restaurants. Our room was large and clean, although we did notice that the next door room which had a pool was full of Coke cans and rubbish for about three days. We are also very disappointed when we went into the spa as it smelled of drains and the doors did not shut, or lock and the lights did not work. It put us off having any treatments.

When a hotel advertises gourmet buffet breakfast lunch and dinner as well as seafood, Italian and a pool bar and beach cafe and none of these were open or available. How can they call themselves five-star and sell an all-inclusive holiday. I was there to celebrate my friends 50th birthday but how can you celebrate when you are constantly asking for food and no one seems to understand when you’re not happy.

From the very first moment when we arrived at the resort, we got a terrific service. The staff is incredibly nice, the junior suite we booked was exactly like the pictures we saw online.

The beach, the sea, the surroundings - breath taking. Felt relaxed.

Trust me on this one, this resort is incredible. Fits all age groups. I will DEFINITELY come back in the future. Thank you very much Gökhan for everything - best manager ever.

The is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The views are incredible and the way the rooms are built into the hillside makes the most of them. The rooms are huge with a separate dressing room and everything you could need. Everybody from the manager through the restaurant and bar staff to the cleaners is friendly and smiley and would do anything for you. The sunbeds are perfect to sink into and relax on and you can choose to be by the pool, on the man-made 'beach' or on a pontoon set out into the sea. I loved the spa. Had an amazing massage whilst listening to the sea break against the rocks just outside the window - bliss. I also used the hamam as part of a very reasonably priced package and would totally recommend this. Again staff in spa absolutely excellent. So why only 4 stars? One word- food. The breakfast was ok with a good choice although I would have liked more fruit and got fed up having to ask for plain yogurt and toasting bread every morning as they kept forgetting to refill it or put it out. Lunch and dinner were the same. And I mean REALLY the same. We got the same 3 mezes for lunch and dinner for 3 days in a row. Turkish mezes are so wonderful and so easy to make there is absolutely no excuse for this. The markets are full of fresh vegetable so why serve up wilting salad and tinned 'russian salad' (think 70's Heinz tinned!) The main course was fish, beef, steak or spaghetti bolognaise - every night and every lunchtime! I know this was the beginning of the season but surely a different Turkish dish could have been offered at each serving as well as the above: pide; sis kebabs; adana kebabs; Karides Güveç; borek etc We were told we could ask for something different for them to get from the market e.g. lamb but it's not up to guests to make up the menu! That is the job of the chef who I think the management should look very closely at - this was incredibly lazy cooking. On the last night I saw an array of salads - I thought this must be because there were more guests and I eagerly made my way towards it but no I was stopped and told this was not for me but for Indian vegetarian guests! Certainly put me in my place and showed that the chef could be at least a bit imaginative but did not think us 'all-inclusive' were worth it!
I am so sad to have to put any criticisms in this as it is truly a very special place and I had a totally relaxing time - partly thanks to the pool bar staff's very tasty G&T's and pinacoladas - thanks guys! Don't let this review put you off. Hopefully others will also complain and management will do something about it just don't believe the website's claims of gourmet - unless you're a spaghetti and tinned salad fan!
