Dewy-eyed romantics who fancy a soul-stirring safari jaunt without roughing it under canvas can expect to be blown away by this five-star boutique property in Mpumalanga – the so-called “land of the rising sun” that extends east from Gauteng to Mozambique and Swaziland. As location’s go, it doesn’t get better; not least because you’ll be so close to Kruger National Park – the Big Five winner that’s home to more species of large mammals than any other African game reserve.
There’s just eight incredibly luxurious suites here, all of which feature French boutique-chic decor (crystal chandeliers, lavish fabrics, elegant hand-painted furniture, statement-making wall coverings) as well as king-size beds swathed in high-thread count cottons. A terrace with private Jacuzzi, outdoor day bed, fireplace, flatscreen TV with satellite channels, DVD player, and gorgeous bathroom with bathrobes, slippers and toiletries complete the lovely touches.
Elsewhere, you’ll find an outdoor pool lined with sunloungers, beautiful gardens, and an excellent all-day restaurant for freshly-prepared dishes created with in-season and organic ingredients (many of which are grown on the hotel’s farm). There’s also a deep spa menu for splurge-worthy beauty rituals, all of which can be enjoyed in the privacy of your opulent suite.
How to Get There
This hotel is absolutely brilliant. Amazing facilities, very romantic with exceptional cuisine. Extremely clean and I cannot speak highly enough for the staff that went out of their way to ensure we had a brilliant stay
We visited the hotel this past weekend for my husbands birthday.
Upon arrival we were met with warm towels and welcome drinks. Arriving at the Belgrace was always a warm welcome.
We stayed in the Hampton suite. This was just fabulous, decorated in a French style with little romantic touches. It has its own balcony overlooking the orchard, plunge pool, own jacuzzi, his and hers shower. This room was just lavish and opulent, making you want to stay in and enjoy all of it.
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and lovely to look over. The rock fog restaurant is beautiful to just sit and wander away.
The staff and management are nothing short of excellent. They went above and beyond to provide for our every request, dietary requirements and comfort. Thank you Jay Dean, Prince and Maxwell. Your attention to detail and service made our trip just perfect.
I’d recommend this quaint hotel to anyone! It is stunning
Firstly I have to apologise that it has taken me so long to write this review, however the 5/5 stars are very well deserved. My husband and I were visiting Kruger national park in April 2018 for our honeymoon, and stayed in the Presidential suite at Belgrace Boutique hotel. The suites are out of this world and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay somewhere luxurious!
We had the privilege of staying at Belgrace for a few days in December 2018. What a stunning hotel, definitely one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at in my life, and i have stayed at many hotels across the world.
Nothing is too much for these guys. The hotel is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that Mpumalanga has to offer, the Kruger Park, The Panorama sightseeing drive etc.
The whole hotel is beautifully decorated from the entrance and throughout. They seem to have thought of every little detail, from being welcomed every time you arrive after going out and with a refreshing drink and ice cold towels too :)
The rooms are all just stunning, we managed to get to look at 2 other rooms besides ours so we could see which room we wanted for our next trip. All of them are just stunning and very private.
Our room had the best linen, towels, pillows and the bed was super comfy. Our room had an outside shower and Jacuzzi which were totally private and overlooked the mountains. I just loved this outside area there is nothing like having a hot shower outside (in private) and sitting in the Jacuzzi with a glass of wine and freshly brewed coffee in the morning (all in the room) was my highlight.
We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and ate all our meals at the hotel. Food was 5 Star! The staff are all super friendly and nothing is too much for them to make your stay the best.
It is easily one of my favourite hotels now and i will definitely be coming back when i need a break from the stresses of life.
Thanks to the team for making our stay a truly memorable experience.
My wife and I enjoyed the Hampton Suite, it is romantic, private and will make you fall back in love again. The room.was large with all the amenities. Double shower, double basin, private toilet, outside shower, jacuzzi, private pool, private balcony with a view all contribute to wanting to stay in the room full time
