Terrible experience over all for the room, staff members, DIRTY bedsheets and pillow cases. Never coming back to this location again. They charged me for a breakfast I never ate and I still have not received my refund. I left at 530AM how would I even get breakfast. Definitely a terrible experience here.

Hyatt Excellence

We returned to the same hotel and the service, room cleanliness, and relative privacy was as high quality as we recall. Staff was especially responsive and the upgrade to golf course view appreciated. Breakfast not outstanding, compared to other Hyatt meals. But overall a solid, predictable, pleasurable choice.

Check in was hassle free and check out was even better. The entire trip was perfect. My room was clean, facility has coffee maker and small fridge and a safe. The shower was hot (no tub) and very spa like. The tv, when watched had local news and events to the area and access to all the shows i usually watch. My room overlooked the ocean and the front of the hotel. I loved that the naval base played The National Anthem every morning(loved that) George Bush was being buried so maybe it had something to do with that. Either way that was nice. The conference food was absolutely satisfying. Vegan accommodations was the best and I'm not even vegan.

Enjoyed the clean quiet place. and the Price was right !! Lobby bar was very nice. Had a Jazz group there and they were unbelievable musicians. Nice pours for $13, but they should be. All my trips to Monterey will be at the Hyatt.

Overall very nice, excellent service

I stayed here in early December as part of a business/personal trip. Took a few extra days to have some quiet time to work on a book and some other projects. So I was looking for a place where I could have some alone time in a comfortable setting.

Best part of this location is the staff--everyone from the housekeeper, shuttle driver, front desk attendants, and restaurant staff was friendly, helpful, and made my stay very pleasant. When I had an issue trying to find a hotel at my next location near San Jose airport (everything was sold out), trying to coordinate my rental car return on time, and how to get to the airport, the staff made calls on my behalf and solved my problem in less than 10 minutes (I'd just spent an hour trying to figure it out on my own). As a result, I spent an extra night at the Hyatt Regency and they helped me coordinate my rental car return and shuttle to the airport.

Since the resort is spread out, if you plan to eat in the on-site restaurants or want coffee/sundries, or want to watch sports in the lounge or sports bar, or just hang out with people, request a room closer to the main building.

As for the room--it could use some updating. The carpeting is old and the furniture has seen better days. Overall though, it was clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable. I didn't need to use the portable AC, so I can't speak to that because my trip was in December.

The hotel lobby and lounge is made for relaxing and sitting by the fire--except the overhead music is awful. Not that it was too loud--it was just tacky. Not even sure how to describe it, sort of like some bad music you'd find in a low-rate disco bar?? Not the right music for a resort setting. It was also pumped throughout the common areas, so you couldn't get away from it. I wanted to take my laptop and work in the lobby so I could sit by the fire, but the music drove me back to my room.

I ate in the sports bar and the Italian restaurant--food was excellent. Breakfast servings were very generous and very good.

Location was great. I took the bicycle/running path all the way to the Aquarium--a very pleasant walk/run. Fitness center was also very nice, had everything I needed.
