This all-suite sleep fits right into its downtown Monterey location thanks to a Spanish adobe-inflected design. The spacious lobby has a homey vibe, from the terra-cotta tile floors and working fireplace to the cowhide chairs and comfy sofas. Outside, a double height waterfall feature anchors a quiet courtyard that’s perfect for soaking up the year-round Central Cali sunshine. Guestrooms start at a spacious 450 square feet, with hardwood floors, seating areas, gas fireplaces and mini fridges. All bathrooms have both tubs and standalone showers, and each room has a private, furnished patio or balcony (accessed via an outdoor corridor in Standard Junior Suites). There’s no restaurant, but a hearty breakfast spread of pastries, fruit, yogurt and more is served each morning, and there are free afternoon refreshments.
In the Area
For family trips, a stop at the town’s famed aquarium is a must, as is a tour with Princess Monterey Whale Watching for dolphin, orca and humpback whale spotting. Spend an afternoon browsing the shops, galleries and wine-tasting rooms along Cannery Row — some favorites include the Cannery Row Antique Mall and Pierce Ranch Vineyards outpost. For a memorable meal, make a reservation at the wonderfully old-fashioned Sardine Factory and be sure to order the abalone bisque, which was served at President Reagan’s inaugural dinner.
How to Get There
Loved it. Great location. Nice folks. Great courtyards.
My man and i relaxed to the courtyard fountainsThe rooms were quaint and very clean.
Walkable to many places and waterfront. Would highly recommend .
Nice hotel in downtown Monterey, shuttle stop to aquarium is just in front of Hotel, not far from the marina downtown, many restaurants are just minutes walk, but some of the staffs are not helpful, it took a moment that the bellhop give us a bagages car, and we have to bring our bagages ourselves in our room. Staffs for breakfast are not very friendly, no smiles...
Stayed here for one night, rooms ok nothing special, looks very old, my wife and i went for breakfast at 9:55, staff was so rude, one lady in particular, breakfast is not much it only toast cereal and fruit, poor options, we had to ask for milk for cereal and bread for toaster, we had to walk over to kitchen to get it, she was so ignorant giving it to us we just walked out, Big No for me this place. For the price you would expect a lot more
Customer service was horrible. Marissa checked me and my husband in. She was very unpleasant and seemed to not enjoy her job. She should get a job that doesn’t require customer service skills. Rooms were okay. They were a bit outdated. Hot Tub was out of service. We did enjoy our complementary breakfast. The breakfast lady was very helpful. Parking was 20 a night. We probably won’t come back for the price.
Two queen junior suite. The room was beautiful. Issues: my room thermostat did not work. I believe it needed batteries. In most all of the hotels I have stayed in always have a hotel directory. Nothing to tell you where things were located. Also, no tv channel information. The shower in the toilet room was difficult to use. The control was hard to control. I could not regulate the water temperature. Virtually unuseable. Luckily the shower in the tub work fine.
Pluses: The staff. Helpful and friendly. Parking, great. Also the location. That was the main reason I chose it. It was clean and well taken care of. Overall...I would recommend this Hotel.
