Wedding weekend
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I recently attended a family wedding in Billings and stayed at the Northern Hotel. It was a wonderful stay. Clean rooms, nice amenities, and super helpful staff. The only thing I wish the room had was a timer on the tv. I'm bad for falling asleep watching and would have liked to set a timer. Small item though, certainly.

Stunning property and first class service

Stayed here for business and was immediately struck by the hotel lobby when I walked in the door. Beautiful fireplace with gorgeous decor.

The rooms are well designed and very comfortable. I was especially struck by the friendly staff. Chris at the front desk was particularly helpful. She helped me with my computer two different times even though this wasn’t her job. She could’ve pointed me to the business center, but she was willing to help me and print out the handouts I needed for my offsite.

Definitely recommend!

We really like staying at The Northern.
Very convenient location downtown and easy to get to.
All of the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms aren’t real large but are very comfortable and beautiful.
The beds are perfect!
Very clean!
The amenities are great! We got a bottle of water, a Cliff Bar, and an orange. Turn-down service with Andes Mints. Free glass of wine!

Anniversary stay

Booked the Northern Hotel for our 1st year anniversary. We live in Wyoming and showed up later in the evening. Made dinner reservations for 10pm (outside the hotel). Arrived at the Northern to find out that they won’t park our truck in their parking garage. No trucks allowed. We took our bags in before trying to find parking. The room key didn’t work TWICE and we had to go back to the lobby several times to get it fixed. Valet referred us down the street to a business they “partner with” for parking. This place was on the tracks, no light, and said “No Overnight Parking”. Looked too sketchy for us and we were afraid our truck would get towed from the lot. We drove around, couldn’t find parking. By this time we were late for dinner and the restaurant wasn’t serving any more. We didn’t get an anniversary dinner and had to order Dominos. (All restaurants close around 10-11 pm in Billings. We drove around for about an hour and finally found parking 5 blocks away from the hotel, on an unlit street. We walked back to the hotel, it was freezing outside. The room did not have coffee, water glasses or an ice bucket. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work, towels were crunchy, and the USB plug in on the side table lamp didn’t work (on either side of the bed). Wall plug ins were across the room. There was one robe in the closet...ironing board but no iron. Shower still had hair in it like it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Needless to say, we won’t be staying here again. Especially for any special occasion.

No coffee in room z!

This is a very nice hotel. the staff is great. Off street parking is good. Small rooms but they are clean. There is no coffee or refrigerator in the room. You should plan to add thirty dollars to the room charge to pay for coffee and breakfast.
