Rainbow Ranch Lodge
What We Love
- Living A River Runs Through It fantasies casting into the stocked fly-fishing pond
- A corral with knowledgeable wranglers and miles of horse trails to explore
- Great restaurant in new main lodge
What To Know
- The spa has a great staff, but it’s a one-roomer and can pick up some noise from the road
- It’s best to rent a car, as the lodge is fairly isolated
- Call ahead to schedule snowmobiling, skiing, horseback riding, rafting or fishing trips after you book your stay
- This isn’t the place for those who require constant entertainment
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site

How to Get There
We really enjoyed our time at this laid back ranch right on the river.
The only down side was that is it right on the road as well.
That said, the fishing was great, the food was fantastic, and the staff was PHENOMENAL!! Of particular note were Nick and Ashle as well as 2 other staff members whose names I don't remember, who went way out of their way to ensure we had a great time and left raving fans!
We stayed in the Golden Eagle Suite with our two teenage kids, during what was a business and family trip.
Would definitely stay here again.
We left RR last week, and I already miss it dearly. The setting is so beautiful and serene, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable —and spacious to boot, and the on-site dining is fantastic! We ate two dinners here + three breakfasts, and all were on point. We were particularly impressed with the fine-dining caliber dinners. Exceptional standouts include the bison flatbread and the bacon-wrapped pheasant. The artisanal cocktails are also top notch, and we’d highly recommend Cody’s original Go-To gin cocktail and the Whiskey Sour Cherry. Pro tip: do not miss the chance to score some delectable chocolate chip cookies hot from the oven! All staff members have been very helpful, and special kudos go to Scott, Alex, Haley, and Cody. We can’t wait to return, and in the meantime, we’ll sing from the rooftops about how amazing Rainbow Ranch is! Thanks for making our visit extra special.
We had a destination wedding in Big Sky on July 20th. The wedding was held in The Soldiers chapel and the reception on the river at Rainbow Ranch Lodge. I have to say the whole wedding weekend was spectacular. We had 90 guests travel from the Midwest and East coast. The Rainbow Ranch provided accommodations for guests as well as the reception site. I worked with the most wonderful event planner, Rachel Scot, and everyone at the Rainbow Ranch was courteous and so helpful. I would recommend this event site to anyone planning a reception. The whole atmosphere of the Rainbow Ranch fits perfectly with the outdoor mountain views that you came all the way to see.
