Rainbow Ranch Lodge
What We Love
- Living A River Runs Through It fantasies casting into the stocked fly-fishing pond
- A corral with knowledgeable wranglers and miles of horse trails to explore
- Great restaurant in new main lodge
What To Know
- The spa has a great staff, but it’s a one-roomer and can pick up some noise from the road

- Call ahead to schedule snowmobiling, skiing, horseback riding, rafting or fishing trips after you book your stay
- This isn’t the place for those who require constant entertainment

How to Get There
We stayed in a Pondside Luxury Room. Great room with very large bathroom and king size bed. Nice fireplace with plenty of wood. Only negative is our room had a door which connected to the room next door. We were able to hear conversations of the folks next door. Fortunately they were not late nighters and it did not interrupt our sleep. We were in the Osprey room, the room to our left, to the left if you are facing the the building, was the last room on the 1st level and it did not have a connecting room door. I would ask for that room next time. Outdoor hot tub was great. We always enjoy the bar here with its great fireplace. The dining room was excellent. Nice breakfast comes with the room.
This hotel was everything we were looking for. It had a cabin like feel with wood burning fireplace and view of a river, walking distance from the rooms patio. The only downside was the firewood they use smells funny. I would stay here again for sure.
Ended up staying here 4 nights which is way longer than I usually stay anywhere, and I usually don't write reviews but because of wedding-related logistics we were in 3 different rooms so I got a good feel for the place. While all rooms were charming there are definitely differences among them. The northernmost, second floor rooms with private balcony and fireplace are the best, though the fireplace use instructions are less than comprehensive. The southern grouping of rooms, all on ground level with nice sliding door and porch, have the outdated bathrooms.
-right on the two-lane highway
-free, tasty cookies in your room
-good complimentary breakfast as far as those things go, passable for vegans but only if you're down with bread and fruit
-nice bar and happy hour
-wine tasting room that i didn't experience but looked nice
-beautiful outdoor lawn adjacent to shallow Gallatin river
-minutes from boundary of yellowstone (though far from main park entrance)
-hiking trail directly across the river
We stayed in a lodge room with a queen bed and fireplace, it was nice and cozy, with a balcony that led out to the grassy area, where you found the stream running. Even though is right the highway it was very quiet. They have an infinity hot tub that wonderful and close to the rooms. The continental breakfast could be a little more. I have one bad thing to say that the bathrooms are a little outdated and need an upgrade.
Overall, a gorgeous place to stay for a week, or weekend..
We spend 1 night at Rainbow Ranch Lodge. The rooms were rustic and comfortable, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the food was top notch. The Lodge is located near the river and mountains with great views. I would highly recommend this place.
