Rainbow Ranch Lodge
What We Love
- Living A River Runs Through It fantasies casting into the stocked fly-fishing pond
- A corral with knowledgeable wranglers and miles of horse trails to explore
- Great restaurant in new main lodge
What To Know
- The spa has a great staff, but it’s a one-roomer and can pick up some noise from the road
- It’s best to rent a car, as the lodge is fairly isolated
- Call ahead to schedule snowmobiling, skiing, horseback riding, rafting or fishing trips after you book your stay
- This isn’t the place for those who require constant entertainment
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site

How to Get There
Planned a visit to Montana with some girlfriends. Picking between two totally opposite sides of Montana and chose to stay at Rainbow Ranch Lodge because of the amenities; riverside room with a private deck and an in room fireplace! Looked very cozy. Upon check in were told that they switched our room without asking. No riverside, no fireplace. No other rooms available. No apology from the manager Ryan for the mishap only offered to minorly discount the room and continued to say “I don’t know what to tell you”. I understand these are all very first world problems but when you book a hotel for the amenities you expect to arrive and enjoy the amenities. Overall disappointed with the experience with the manager and the handling of our booking. How do you change our booking to a completely different experience room and not apologize. Also pretty desolate for where we are staying so not many other options to chose from when we tried to chose a different hotel with similar amentities and similar price range. Food was also very mediocre. Would categorize this as a 2-3/5 Star lodging.
My wife and I stayed at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge while on two week vacation. Great facility overlooking the Gallatin River. Staff was courteous and professional. The morning breakfast was tasty and fresh each morning. The beer selection reflected local breweries and is something I enjoyed. Rooms were just awesome, we stayed in the Osprey while there.
This part of Montana is beautiful, with lovely trees and mountains. The hotel is fantastic and serene. Luxurious, but not pretentious. It sits by a river, has a small pond, a jacuzzi with a fire place next to it. Breakfast is fabulous, the bar is awesome and the food is great. The rooms are comfortable and our room even had a fireplace in it. Seriously, what more could you want from a hotel?
Beautiful scenery and nice rooms. Location was a little remote for us. The downside was SLOW internet and very LOW water pressure. Like showering with a watering can. Not refreshing after a day of hiking.
Our room was extremely comfortable and plush, from the bedding to the bath robes to the luxurious toiletries. We loved the indoor fireplace and fire-making supplies were always well-stocked - although the keeper always offered to make a fire for us or have one burning when we returned from our chilly adventures. The cleaning staff was very attentive, but made sure not to disturb us at any time. They visited to tidy up and restock whenever we were out. The giant jacuzzi with disappearing edge and fabulous views was wonderful - especially when the keeper made sure to bring wine and keep the outdoor fireplace burning. I could go on - but I'll just say: we cannot wait to return!
