How to Get There
I had a bit of a tumultuous journey with the marketing team of the
hotel and felt very unwelcome even though as a blogger/influencer I PAID for my stay. I was not welcomed to take photographs, which is kind of silly considering I would've been promoting the hotel on Instagram. I came here as a break from London and thought I'd catch up with friends who are Monaco residents. The staff in my opinion I found to be racist, I felt as I wasn't a rich white female they looked their pretentious noses down at me. I could see them being lovely to their other hotel guests but had an attitude whilst serving me on a few occasions, if you are ethnic you'll know how this feels . Also Our electricity cut out a few times which was ridiculous- I would've been in the shower and BAM, pitch black....This couldve given an anxiety sufferer a panic attack for sure. The hotel itself is so beautiful and in the perfect location. The staff were weird and I dont think I'll be staying at this hotel again. I have also informed my 60,000 followers of how poor the service was via my instastory which are usually watched by 3,000-5,000 people . In terms of service one of the worst I have experienced and I have traveled all around the world. Also the WIFI is horrendous. I will stay at the hotel metropole next time.
My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday. Everyone and everything was absolutely perfect. From check in and their complementary upgrade to check out, they took care of us. It made me not want to go back home. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous and the staff were incredible. They booked us a massage and dinner for every day we were there. Their restaurant la terrace I believe was equally amazing. We ate there for lunch overlooking the sea it was truly a one of a kind experience. When we got to our room they had a beautiful gold leafed chocolate cake that said Hppy birthday on it for my husband. The spa was excellent, and the saltwater pool was really large and relaxing. I only hope that we make it back here one day. Congrats on a job truly well done by all of the staff.
Just spent too short a stay at this amazing hotel. The service level is over the top. No one on the staff can do too much to please you and making sure that your stay is perfect.
About a 5 min walk to the Casino and the main square..this place is quieter than Hotel de Paris (completing their renovations right now) which is the center of the “glitterati” (stay there if that is your thing).
Hermitage is so beautiful with great sea views and lovely historic style rooms. It is the center of grace and quality in Monte Carlo in my opinion. Lovely atmosphere with classic charm.
Would love to go back for a romantic stay with my husband!
I have stayed in this hotel before but this time my experience started with the pick up at the airport in Nice. I had made arrangements with the hotel to send a car and driver to transfer us from the airport to the hotel. We had told the hotel that we had a lot of luggage and they sent a minivan with plenty luggage space. The driver was there with a sign with my name and he was really "on-the-ball", I had rented a luggage cart for 1 Euro, since there were no porters, and the minute that the driver took the luggage cart from me he gave me a 1 Euro coin to pay for the charge for the cart rental. When I refused he insisted and he said it was part of the service.
The ride into Monaco was uneventful and upon our arrival at the Hermitage new lobby, the doors to the car were opened by the door staff and I was welcomed by my name and escorted to the check in desk, and the luggage was placed on a cart and net to me with a porter.
After the passport check and credit card exchange was finished we were escorted to our room which was all the way in the "old building" because we had been upgraded to a terrace-room overlooking the port rather than the overlooking the port room which we had reserved. The room was very nice and the terrace was over the top since we were in the first floor where the terrace ceilings had painted frescos and the beautiful view of Hercules Bay, the famous Monaco bay where the largest yachts in the world are moored.
After unpacking and just resting we went to the bar and had a drink and then went out to our dinner engagement.
The next couple of days that we stayed here, we had the complimentary breakfast in a room above the old lobby and it was great. We not only had a continental option but we were also able to order omelets and other eggs cooked to our order. The fruit options were over the top, including my favorite "fresh figs" which were not only ripe to eat but plentiful.
We used the very large indoor pool and sat on the outdoor sunning terrace where we had the option of seating under an awning or just sit under the sun. We opted for the shaded area and also ordered a couple of drinks. Each lounge in the sunning terrace had a push-button gadget where you can summon a waiter to place your order. The indoor swimming pool was very special and nicely heated. The changing room was very nice and the attendants could not be more pleasant.
The entire stay at the Hermitage was as good if not better than it had been the previous times we have been there.
Beautiful hotel, great location. Only option for 2 beds is that they pull apart the bed into 2 twin beds. So small but comfortable. Bathroom is well equipped with robes, toiletries and nice rain shower. Even room next to road was quiet for sleeping. Not many plugs, do need adaptors (did not see any USB plug ins).
